Frank's Restaurante — Restaurant in Torrevieja

I have been coming to franks for years now every time I visit torre, and I recently took my in laws there to treat them on Boxing Day. Our booking was at 6:30 and it seems like so was everyone else’s, from the moment we sat down the restaurant became very busy, with not a lot of servers to attend us. It took 20 minutes for them to just take our drink orders which came out wrong. The servers were fumbling around, half of them looking like they were still drunk from Christmas (I suppose this can’t be helped), it was disorganised and chaotic though definitely entertaining. Our starters came out within 45 minutes, carpaccio was lovely and freshly shaven, the salad was delicious, the snails were lovely and the prawns were delicious (although I found one which wasn’t cleaned properly).

It took an additional hour for our mains to come out, and the service during to top our drinks up was outrageous to the point I would go to the bar myself to avoid waiting additional time. Every 5 minutes you could hear a glass being smashed by the staff during the chaos.

We all had steaks and they were beautiful cuts of meat, absolutely delicious, but when I went to the toilet and had to walk past the lobster tank it was grubby and the lobsters were very lack lustre with no fight in them looking half dead on the tank floor. When I’ve previously been the lobsters definitely had a lot more life and the tanks water was clear, and the lobsters were delicious and fresh but I wouldn’t touch the lobsters in there now for fear of them being cooked already dead. This was highly disappointing.

Being such a high quality restaurant the service and the state of the lobsters really disappointed me. After 2 bottles of wine, a couple of vodka tonics and more than enough food the bill came to just under 200 euros for the 4 of us so great value for money.

Please frank, improve the service when I used to come I would tip in excess of 15% because the servers made me feel like a princess, now the service is completely unorganised and understaffed, and please sort the lobsters out, as that used to be my favourite treat and now I fear they could be highly dangerous to be consumed with the state of the tanks and lobsters in there.

I hope to visit again when I’m back and praying to see improvements with both of those things, but other than that just another great tasting meal from franks but not such a...

We went to Franks for our friends birthday we had previously reserved a table for 8:30pm. We arrived on time and waited to be seated after some time we notified the staff we had reserved a table on the terrace area as we have been many times before and inside is too Smokey it hearts your eyes. On being seated we ordered our drinks, unfortunately this was the first and last time we saw a waiter for over 1:30 minutes when the waiters did finally pass they went to other tables that had arrived much later than ourselves taking their food orders. My wife then requested the young tall blonde male waiter to stop and take our order as we had been waiting so long. His response was quite incredible he told my wife to stop shouting like a mad woman of which she hadn’t, she stood up to ask what he has said as she couldn’t believe hear ears and he repeated the sentence. On this my wife proceeded to request the complaints book which is required by all establishments the manager quickly came to our table. On explaining to her how rude the boy had been she offer a token bottle of cava but would not produce the complaints book as requested. As this is now 2 hours later and was told our meals would not be ready for at least another hour we left and visited a restaurant that had polite staff and respected us spending over 200€ with them. Decided to go here after seeing the rave reviews. My expectations were high and left angry and disappointed. One of the waiters (guy with glasses and short pony tail was the rudest waiter I have EVER experienced. After waiting a while for menus, I asked him if we can order some drinks and he replied in a condescending attitude "Tranquilo slow, wait". At that point I felt like walking out, but wanted to see if the food would redeem this guy.

Steak was alright, nothing to rave about. My main concern is that waiter. In my opinion he should be Immediately FIRED. We were not the only people who had issues with his attitude. Thr table across with us also felt insulted by his attitude, at one point there was a shouting match between a customer and the waiter.

Please either have a serious discussion with this guy or, fire him. He is not doing this restaurant any favours. Such condescending attitude, when ordering too, "and you lady, what you want?" Take a course in decorum. I'm sure I heard him say bad murmurs in Spanish also. (Which I understood perfectly as I speak fluent Spanish.

I hardly leave reviews, but I felt really angry with this guy. You don't speak to customers like that EVER. And we were polite and friendly,, but not mutual.

I hope the table infront of us (a big group), leaves a review to confirm my comments.
