Old Ambient — Restaurant in Torroella de Montgrí

We ate here twice. First time everything was pretty OK, food was nice both teenagers had burgers which they enjoyed , my wife had a nice salad and I had the Dutch style fish and chips. Total €94 Second visit all four of us had burgers . It was only half way through the meal I noticed my burger was not cooked the complete way through and then checked my sons meal . Needless to say hungry teenagers one had finished completely but my wife's and youngest lad also were not not cooked through. I brought it to the attention of one of the managers /owners and she said everything was fresh and there was nothing to worry about. I tried to tell her that mince meat has to be completely cooked thoroughly and it shoul not be pink in the center and asked why the first time we ate the burgers were perfectly cooked and the second time three pink she explained he was a new chef. While a token gesture of removing the price of one beer and one chips might seem to solve a customer complaint it doesn't take away from basic cooking skills and attention to food safety. Food is absolutely lovely, the staff however are rude. The Dutch lady who sat us at our table was rude, unhelpful and very abrupt. Apart from her the food and other staff were great.

Went here again this year hoping for a better experience.. avoid at all costs. This place is only for the Dutch, if you’re English you are told you are not able to reserve any tables for dinner and just have to turn up.. to then arrive and see every table with reserved signs on them.. what’s all that about?! This place is run like a well oiled machine. It’s a very busy restaurant and we sat inside with a drink while waiting for a table. Once seated service was fast and efficient, how they do it is by end me with so many tables. Food was delicious too. Myself and my daughter had burgers and my wife and son had turkey escalope. We all commented how nice they were. We saw lots of bbq ribs being brought out which looked massive. Hopefully we’ll get back...
