I spent a night here on a mooring ball with my 6.8m/22ft sailboat. Could not find the prices listed for moorings online, only berths.
I asked the marineros in the evening as they arrived to take my papers, but they also did not know. The marina does not have a dinghy dock, but was told I could leave it at the jetty, as long as I wasnt gone all day.
There was some wake from powerboats entering the harbour at speed, but no waves during the night.
Went to pay a little after noon, and was immediately told that I had overstayed, and that all boats had to leave by 1200.
And then, to my surprise, I was charged 36,47€. For a mooring ball, with neither toilets, showers, nor electricity.
I did get to fill some water jugs, however. But was advised to filter it before drinking.
Some local sailors told me that it used to be cheaper, but since foreign boaters always pay whatever price they charge, it was getting difficult for them to afford visiting their local marinas.
But the staff was very friendly, especially the marineros. And the scenery was very pretty as well.
So full score for location and staff, but the outrageously expensive price combined with lack of access to facilities reduces what would have...
Read moreWe have used this port over the last 25 years with various boats we have owned. However this year provided a very disappointing experience as the Port has grown substantially in size and while facilities have been refurbished the general attitude of staff has declined and we felt that we just didn’t matter. The Port seems to have out grown the Town and profit is placed above customer loyalty. Our unhappy experience has convinced us to sell our boat and rent from one of the many Rent a Boat companies which have sprung up over the last few years. It's better to let them have any aggravation with dealing with Port. Assuming we return, which is likely after holidaying in the area for the 50 years our loyalty will be now be directed at the many wonderful Country Restaurants and surrounding areas which make this region such an attraction. We wish the Port well, particularly with the upcoming Holiday season and we hope they will eventually see sense and get their act together,, but we wouldn’t...
Read moreGreat experience and even better service! Before we came we reserved and paid for a boat rental. When we arrived in LÉstartit it started raining and drizzeling. Since we already paid we went to Club Nàutic Estartit to check the possibilities, already thinking we would have lost our money. Staff was very friendly, said that we could book another date or get or full money back. As we weren't for long in L'Estartit we choose for the last option. However one hour later the weather turned upside down and the sky was completly open and sunny. I called the Club Nàutic and they said that we were more than welcome and would only pay 50% of the payment. Great boat, great area, great people! We had...
