Wonderful place to have coffee and the cakes are wonderfully tasty. Morning sun and in the afternoon enjoyable shade. What this place makes so special is the owner. She has always a smile on her face and makes you feel so welcome in her cafe. The atmosphere is one of a kind. You always meet new friendly people. Of course, that she is a horribly good baker and chef isn’t hurting at all. She offers customised cakes, English breakfast and several different delicious treats. On top of that, there are several different handcrafting workshops, which take place at Jems and there is also the plan of a cupcake-decorating-workshop for kids in autumn this year. We frequented Jems several times when we lived in the area and Lews was closed.

We never felt like it was overly an enjoyable experience or Emma to be overly personable. We are back visiting the area and based on recent reviews decided to visit again. However for us the experience was no different. Emma now seems to cook and another lady serving customers.

The bacon on the breakfasts was overcooked as were the eggs. My husband had a sausage and egg sandwich, and the sausage is sliced into coin size pieces?
