Restaurante MAGÓN — Restaurant in Torrox

An honest review: the location is nice and on the terrace, you have a nice view to the beach. BUT before sunset, it might get super warm on the terrace. Especially with small children it can get unfonfi! We arrived at 7:30 pm.. At the beginning, the service was friendly. During the evening, it became more hectic and less careful, since the waiters seemed to be overwhelmed in some situations. For every order reg. drinks e.g., we had to call the waiter. And there was not much going on in the restaurant! No one seemed to care, if the glasses are empty… very sad...

The food: the starters were excellent! Especially the aubergine was superb! As main dishes we had the regular steak, the filet and the pork ribs.

The beef steaks were extrem disappointing!!!

We had much better meat close by (e.g. pepe rico II)!

Nevertheless, the pork was nice and the home made sauces are good.

Desserts were okay.

The wine (Rioja) was nice and the price was fair as well (3€).

The bill was 120€ for 2 adults and 2 kids. Compared to other (for me better) restaurants close by, it feels expensive to me.

You CAN‘T give any tip, if you are paying by card, which is very sad! In every other restaurant, that’s not an issue…

Overall, I can not recommend this place and we will...

We had a fantastic experience at Restaurant Magon in Torrox Costa! The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The menu offers a great variety of Mediterranean dishes with something for everyone, and the quality is outstanding.

What truly made our evening memorable, though, was the exceptional service. Our waiter was incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout the night. He took the time to explain the dishes, made excellent recommendations, and made us feel genuinely welcome. It's rare to encounter such warm and personal service, and it really made all the difference.

The atmosphere was relaxed and cozy, perfect for a relaxing dinner. We will definitely be returning and can highly recommend Magon to anyone visiting the area. A true gem in...

Acabamos de venir de almorzar de este sitio, vivo justo al lado del restaurante pero sin duda alguna, no vuelvo más en la vida.

Hoy era un día especial de celebración con mis padres y decidí reservar en Magón para invitarlos a comer, ya que tenía buenas reseñas y siempre que pasamos se ve apetecible.

La comida está buena, eso sí, pero el ambiente es pésimo. Al rato de estar allí en el interior esperando la comida, llegó una familia con 2 niñas que se sentaron en terraza a almorzar. Las niñas se entraron al comedor interior a aporrear las teclas de un piano que tienen de decoración al lado de la barra. Si tocaran bien el piano pues bueno, pero tener que aguantar a 2 crías que te pongan la cabeza como un bombo mientras comes, haciendo ruido con el piano y que se lo digas al camarero y el camarero te diga que él no tiene autoridad ninguna y que no le hacen caso....(?) Pues ya me dirás tú que eres el camarero y trabajas en el restaurante y unos comensales te están pidiendo que por favor hagas parar el escandaloso espectáculo. Mientras los papis en la terraza tomando su cervecita y sus retoños dando por saco dentro a los demás.

Luego cuando voy a pagar, le explico a la camarera lo sucedido y ella no le da ninguna importancia y me dice que "yo soy solo una empleada". Hija mía, pues eres una empleada del bar que te está dando sustento económico cada mes, un poquito sí que podrías mirar por la clientela y no hacer como que te da igual.

Tengo clarísimo que todas las personas que conozco aquí y que les anuncié que iba a comer en Magón hoy, les recomendaré que mejor no vayan.

Y esto va para el dueño de Magón: elija mejor a sus camareros, porque que a mi familia y a mí nos arruinen la experiencia de probar su restaurante es lo de menos, pero cuando lo hagan con más familias y de verdad lo note económicamente, tendrá difícil revertir la situación. Torrox es muy pequeño y aquí nos conocemos todos.

En resumen, hemos vuelto a casa locos perdidos de aguantar a niños que sus padres los dejan por ahí jugando para que molesten a todos menos a sus padres, que los camareros actúen como si no les doliera el negocio y como que esto es lo que hay.... Una y no más...
