Table for 8 was in the space virtually under the stairs. Impossible for people to access/leave table without everyone else having to get up to let them enter/out. Food portions extremely small, main course salad came in a small bowl. Burgers a la brasa were small and we discovered that they were only half cooked on the bbq and then finished off on the griddle (we saw this with our own eyes). Mixed grill came with a quarter of a sausage. One piece of overcooked belly pork. One baldana, one wafer-thin lamb chop and half a tomato and jacket potato. Other diners were fed overdone potato wedges which the staff put into a bowl using their hands (again seen with our own eyes). One of our party has severe mobility difficulties. Our table was on the lower floors (virtually under the stairs). The steps do not have any handrail. The staff when told it wasn't suitable told us we could go out and enter by another door. There were 2 steps before we could get to the table again with no handrail. Toilet facilities were on the initial entry level so our disabled party member was unable to access them. Staff forgot to give us cutlery. Condiments. Whilst covid restrictions have been relaxed the tables were too close to each other. Loud music assaulted ones senses resulting in people having to talk quite loud to be heard. Of course the next table had to talk a bit louder and so on. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Oh and don't take children because they really can't...

On our visit, the place filled up quickly, which is no surprise given the excellent value. While many patrons went for croquettes and burgers, we chose grilled meats (ribs and ribeye steak) and patatas bravas, all of which were exceptionally cooked. Kudos to the grill master. However, the carrot cake was a letdown after such a culinary delight, lacking moisture, more carrot, and cream cheese. The atmosphere is lively, though the echo from the high ceilings can be noisy. It’s a place I would return to, but perhaps not for an occasion that...
Read moreI thought we'd eaten at most places in Tortosa that were worth eating at... but then a friend recommended Forn de la Canonja. We (me, my wife and a friend) loved it. Beautiful location and historic building, warm, enthusiastic and friendly service, a (mostly) great food. The entrecote was magnificent and cooked perfectly to order, mixed grill was generous... all imbued with delicious smokey flavour from the open fire. My wife's gluten-free needs were catered to, including some gluten free bread. Desserts were disappointing, as they often are with menu del dias. But overall, really good value and enjoyable....
