In the bustling St. Patrick's pub in Valencia, I, a tall Serbian man, walked in with an air of curiosity. The sights and sounds were so different from my homeland, and the Irish spirit was infectious.
I ordered a pint of Guinness, and the bartender, Barbara, served it up with a twinkle in her eye. I asked her for a taste of something uniquely Irish, and she handed me a plate of shepherd's pie, saying, "It's the taste of the Emerald Isle."
As I savored the dish, a group of lively locals started a spirited Irish dance in the middle of the pub. Without missing a beat, Barbara handed me a pair of leprechaun-sized dance shoes and said, "Join the fun, laddie!"

Read moreOne faithful night , my friend and I arrived into this esteemed establishment named St. Patrick’s Scholars . We were given an extremely charismatic welcome by the staff but especially by the Croatian now full Irish citizen Barbara. She showed us to our reserved tables and provide light refreshments for starters. Then proceeded to inquire about our interests and made it feel like a home from home . One cannot put into words the mellifluous sound of a pint of Guinness being poured perfectly by the bar maid Barbara. Sick joint , shout out to the raving crew we met , bit dodgy looking guys named Andrew and Stiofáin. Think he was wearing a Kerry...

The Dubs came up short but this was a great game overall and so was St Patrick's Scholar and the host who hails from Ballyheigue or it's hinterland. An engaging man who knows nothing about TV 😂 but has the right personality to fester a great bonhommie with his troops his customers. I have forgotten his name because I took to the drinking after our narrow loss. I'd like to think he'd take his hat off to this review...
