La Bodeguita del Medio — Restaurant in Vera

I love the very comfortable seats of this place! It's a beautiful terrace to have your meal or just a drink and hang out to enjoy life! It's not cheap, but I think that's normal at this beautiful location. 😍

The staff is friendly and fast. I've been here a few times for just a drink and/or coffee. And I had lunch one time. I really loved the food! I had seen a lot of reviews complain about the potion size, which worried me because I like to have a decent amount of food. 😅 I ordered sole, and it was amazing! And it was a lot of food! Nothing wrong with the portion! 😊

The one thing I didn't like was that they brought me bread (the kind that still needs to be baked, but it wasn't, so it was not really edible imo, and would cause stomach ache when eating it like that) with some olives before the meal, without me ordering it and I had to pay for it! Is this even legal?! 😮 I barely touched it because it was not what I wanted before my meal, which seems obvious to me. But I assumed it was for free. I was quite surprised to see it on the bill afterwards. This is just not good!

I love the place, the staff, the food is incredible, but this is just not good service. I would still recommend this place, but please tell them that you only want to pay for what...

First the good. The young lady serving us was attentive and the food arrived quickly. The seating and tables were modern and welcoming

Secondly the bad: The menu del día is 15 euros plus an extra 2 euros if you have what is considered worthy of extra cost. So what do you get for 17 euros. You get a child sized portion and when you leave you will still be hungry. I had secreto and my friend had ternera. The ternera was pretty chewy. The secreto was cooked perfectly but wasn't.enough to satisfy. There were some token slices of a potato but no coloured vegetables. Essentially you get a bit of meat on a plate. The desert was tiny.

Furthermore both plates were chipped and should not be used in a restaurant setting.

I called the waitress over to say that I wasn't happy about the quality of presentation and that I was still hungry. There simply wasn't enough food to justify the price.

The waitress sort of acknowledged my comments but just looked at me blankly when I showed her the chipped plates.

I won't be going...

Still my favorite in Vera Playa. Foods always excellent, atmosphere lovely, service great and now the new food service robot "Bella" is an added fun attraction

Sigue siendo mi favorito en Vera Playa. La comida siempre es excelente, el ambiente encantador, el servicio excelente y ahora el nuevo robot de servicio de comida "Bella" es una atracción divertida adicional.

First time in the new dining room, formerly El Mayo (sp?,) but its been completely redone and its very pleasant dining atmosphere. As usual, great service, excellent food, very nice atmosphere. My opinion, best place in Vera Playa. Very nice meal for two with wine under €40.

Primera vez en el nuevo comedor, anteriormente El Mayo (¿sp?), pero ha sido completamente renovado y su ambiente gastronómico es muy agradable. Como siempre, gran servicio, excelente comida, muy buen ambiente. En mi opinión, el mejor lugar en Vera Playa. Muy buena comida para dos con vino por menos de 40€.

Cene aquí a menudo. Consistentemente el mejor lugar en Vera Playa para cenar. La cocina siempre está abierta, la comida es siempre buena, el personal es amable, alerta y atento. La mejor relación calidad-precio y tamaño de porción.

Dine here often. Consistently the best place in Vera Playa for dining. Kitchen is always open, food is consistently good, staff is friendly, alert and attentive. Best value for price, quality and serving size.

Voy aquí una vez a la semana porque la cocina siempre está abierta y el menú completo está disponible cuando quiero comer. No espere hasta las 20:00 para que abra la cocina.

En general... Buena comida, servicio siempre atento. Muy buen menú y no he encontrado ningún alimento que no les vaya bien, pero los postres son decepcionantes. Sáltate los postres. El plato de berenjena rellena es probablemente el mejor que he comido en cualquier lugar. Este es un claro favorito, difícil de superar, quizás más caro que muchos lugares en Vera Playa pero menos costoso que Lua.

I go here about once a week because the kitchen is always open and the full menu is available whenever I want to eat. No waiting until 20:00 for the kitchen to open.

Generally... Consistently good food, always attentive service. Very nice menu and haven't found any food item they don't do well, but desserts are disappointing. Skip the desserts. The stuffed Aubergine starter is probably the best I've eaten anywhere. This is a clear favorite, hard to beat, maybe pricer than many places in Vera Playa but less...
