During a small window from 9 to 11 pm, I made the 26 km drive to Omichi Ramen & Bar in Vigo, eager to satisfy my craving for Asian food. Having written my first ramen review six years ago for Yokohama Ramen Saito, which had been my go-to spot for Shoyu ramen, I was curious to see how Omichi's Shoyu broth compared. While the broth was undeniably good, I’m still unsure if it surpasses Saito's in Schiedam. However, the chashu and egg were a clear win—better than Saito's—with the chashu packing strong flavor and a satisfying fat content. The shop had a cool vibe, with unique posters on the walls, including a Juzo Itami "Tampopo" poster, which I loved. Interestingly, the staff was entirely Spanish, with three girls in service and three guys handling the cooking. The typical thin noodles were good, but I wished they offered more topping choices, like menma or spinach. I also missed table offerings like Togarashi pepper, Yuzu koshō, and especially the chili oil they serve with the dumplings. That sauce could definitely elevate the ramen broth even more. For starters, I went with the dumplings (not gyoza), and they were a great start to the meal. Homemade and filled with juicy meat, they were served with a perfectly spiced chili oil sauce and topped with green onions and crispy fried garlic. Overall, Omichi is definitely up there among the best ramen spots outside of Japan.

I travel from Malaysia to Europe all the way by train, please watch my YouTube Lonely Railway Explorer to know more. I search on Google maps for rice, and this restaurant is the nearest and top rated. So I went to try it, and no disappointed. The cook not a Japanese, but the cooking skill really not bad. I ordered ramen with fried rice and karaage, really tasteful. And the price are affordable. And I like the decoration here.

So happy to have found this great Ramen bar here in Vigo! Menu is short & to the point. Has everything a small ramen bar should have. As for the Ramen, broth was tasty and surprisingly spicy (ask for extra spicy), chashu pork was both fatty & meaty, ramen noodles homemade, & boiled egg cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend this place and will be coming back to try more items on their menu.
