Not on our list of favourites along the seafront in Javier, but thought we would give it another try for a change.
Service was generally okay, though on our arrival choosing a suitable table became a bit of a challenge as one of the waitresses wasn’t keen on us wishing to choose a specific table out of days that were available. There were two waitresses on the floor and one was rather cold and not at all welcoming, whereas the other one was pretty happy and couldn’t seem to do enough with her eyes looking everywhere to see what was needed by anyone.
Food was okay. We tried the Menu del Dia (Worth mentioning that there was no drink included, and the prawn cocktail is €2 extra and the lamb €6 extra), and also the a’la carte.
Wine was pleasant charged extra.
Bill was around €70+ which is probably at least 10% over priced for the value we perceived.
Not planning a return visit, but do give it a try if you...
Read moreA huge disappointment that cost us €100 for 3 Menu Del Dia and 2 tapas, plus drinks. The €20 menu of the day was supposed to come with 4 starters to share and a choice of main course. Two starters eventually arrived with the other 2, presumably lost in Transit. We enquired where the other 2 were to be told they had run out which we were not informed of before ordering. We tried pressing the waitress what the alternatives were, why weren't we informed before ordering and "could we please have our food" but just got a shrug and she walked off. By this time 2 other tables of 4 had come, eaten and left! The restaurant wasn't busy and they didn't appear to be short staffed. So, the mains. Dry, tough, chicken and chips, squid that was bland so I left it but the prawns in rice was "quite nice" By now we all just wanted to leave as a quick bite had turned into a nearly 3...
Read moreAmazing experience!! We had some tasty olives and cava to start with the prawns. They were amazingly cooked, tasty and felt very fresh: the best prawns I have ever tasted in Jávea! I had Corvina (fish) as a main and wow! They cooked it to perfection with a crispy skin and potato purée and caramelised onions that balanced the flavours very well. The bolognese was tasty too. Another surprise was the dessert! The coca with chocolate, it was delicious. I am a person who is not a fan of chocolate but this one…you need to taste it if you come. Attentive service. We met the owner and you can see the passion he has for the food, fresh ingredients and the pizzas that we have been told are the star dish of the place! With an oven brought from Sicily. We cannot wait to come back and taste...
