La Siesta — Restaurant in Xàbia / Jávea

This place is visually and aesthetically stunning, a beachfront view and fairy lights everywhere, both bars look nice too, with all the drink bottles side by side, deceiving you into thinking it was a competent establishment. However, I have a few complaints about this place, first of all, the wait, Now I know it can be difficult to manage seating for a restaurant as busy as this one, but we were waiting for upwards of an hour for a seat, the chairs were extraordinarily uncomfortable while we waited. When we finally got a seat and ordered, the drinks are absolutely filled to the brim with ice, even the ones that aren't supposed to be, the pizza is often burnt, and not cut properly, making it mandatory to cut the entire thing yourself, slice by slice. The taste of the pizza isn't the best either, very plain, even with a ton of toppings. The fries were always completely hollow, and had little to no actual potato content. The only redeeming quality about this place is that, as I mentioned before, the location is great, (If you can get a good enough seat, which I wasn't so lucky). So here's my final summary:

Food - 3/10 Drinks - 4/10 Location - 9/10 Wait time - 2/10 Service - 7.5/10

Very nice. On the beach. Lots of food choices to choose from. Packed today (Easter Saturday) had to wait an hour to get a table in the beach front line. But we waited at the bar and there is a good vibe with the music. They're so tolerant here. Tables of young people just drinking water ordering nothing while dozens queue outside to get in ..all day. Crazy.. We ordered the nems for starter which were lovely. 2 X entrecot cooked med-well. One was perfect one was too bloody/jelly like and had to be sent back and unfortunately came back cremated. Such a shame. How can 2 steaks being cooked at the same time be so different? Youngest ordered kids solomillo and chips and that was good and I had chicken supreme. Also nice but obvious the rice had been reheated in the microwave because all outside was crispy and hard. By then though I was very hungry and just ate it. The view and vibe is great they just need to get their staffing sorted out on busy days. Bar was over worked as well. We had to wait ages to get served each round and we were stood at the bar. Guys too busy filling table orders. Still love the place but needs a bit if TLC. Get it sorted for...

As a local, I always look forward to this seasonal eatery opening for the summer.

The business is run by two chaps who own similarly successful eateries around the area and are, in my view, business people who clearly understand the needs of their clients (and no, they're not my friends! My opinion is entirely honest!).

It runs a bar/restaurant service all year round and has (stony) beach beds just in front of the premises where you can sip on your cocktail and enjoy the sound and smell of the sea.
