Hing Wa — Restaurant in Göteborgs Stad

Was recommended by a colleague to go there. Went there around 19:30. Checked the la carte menu. Ambitious menu with lots of common Cantonese dishes, as I can see there's only two more customers sitting and dishes on their table weren't appealing. That's usually a warming sign. Wanted to give it a try anyway. Ordered 3 dishes. Cha Siao's texture was half like pulled pork, with thick sweet sauce. Very bad. Wine marinated chicken tasted strange, too salty and a bit smelly. Ma pao tofu was ordinary. So, it's a place for stuffing stomach if you are nearby and your usual eating out places are Thai & pizza. Not a place to travel to for a nice...

Really nice Chinese restaurant! From the outside it doesn't look like much but the interior is pretty decent and modern.

Now to the food. We tried the following food we had never tried before in Sweden which were all great: Char siu, Crispy pork belly, duck with pak choi and fried shrimps with spices. Our favorite ones were the crispy pork and the shrimps. That being said everything was definitely above average and pleasant.

I'd definitely go again to try the whole fish and other dishes that seemed peculiar. Oh, and some more crispy pork belly...

Best pork belly I have ever tried! The amount of fat in the meat was just perfect, and the skin was so crispy! Their food is also budget-friendly. We went twice during our Gothenburg trip since it was too good.

On our visit during lunch, they have a mini salad bar for free as well! Also saw that they have a lunch menu which was even better for people on a tight budget. The people were very friendly and were so generous on offerin us more rice as well. Big thumbs up and will...
