Portens Bakery — Restaurant in Göteborgs Stad

I live close to Portens and I like to have breakfast there once a week. I have never been disappointed by their buns, although the place is honestly expensive (I do not mind if the quality is high, and in any case no one forces me to go there). So why three stars? The size of the buns is very inconsistent. This is a mistake that I can make as an amateur baker (and it would be bad anyway) but not acceptable from a professional one. Moreover, often they place the biggest buns in the front and the smallest ones in the back. The kanelbulle I had this morning was ridiculously smaller than the others. This would be fairly acceptable if one paid buns by weight, but one pays a fixed amount per bun. This is for me a fatal flaw, otherwise I would have given 5/5. Used to be one of the favourite places for fika but recentely it became just impossible to get in, especially with a baby. Stopped going there at all. From the most baby-friendly café in the area it turned into a "no go zone" with a stroller. Also the prices are Really High given that it's not at all in the touristic centre, a cappuccino on Linnégatan costs less - 38 sek. So many restrictions and rules for the customers while that lady who's sitting next to COOP just gets her free coffee and uses the bathroom whenever she wants. A very nice place with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. The prices aren’t high — there are cafés that are more expensive. The desserts are delicious! The only minus is the outside area. There are some tables and chairs, but it just feels a bit plain — a few lights, some plants, or a small fence would make it much nicer. But still, I will definitely come...
