Probably the best home made dumplings in town, but be advised: there's not very many made each day, so don't assume they're available all the time! I have been there with friends who come from or have lived long time in China and they confirm that the food is the real deal - that alone awards it a star. The menu could be split into two categories: one with the standard "Swasian" dishes (basic sushi, beef with bamboo shoots, nasi goreng, etc.) and one with genuine Chinese food. The latter category is the one you should absolutely go for (the other stuff could be dismissed). Besides the house special (large steamed dumplings) there's a fish soup that has to be ordered a day in advance that's absolutely magical! The venue itself is very unpretentious and spartan but OK. Service is a bit DIY but it just adds personality to the place. Prices are acceptable. I am glad to have such a genuine restaurant in my neighborhood and I hope they will continue to flourish for...

Instead of refusing me( which is understandable), she acted passive-aggressively. My friend and I were rushed to make an order without looking through the menu. Then we rushed ourselves to eat as fast as possible. By 7:50 pm we were finishing the last bit while the young waitress finishing clean the toilet and spraying table cleaner at the next table. 7:55 pm we paid and left.
I understood they were just trying to finish the day but I felt like a homeless eating free leftovers at her mercy. You never expect to pay for this kind of experience.
I dunt remember how was the food. I still feel sad writing...
Read moreYiLi Restaurant is a cozy Chinese restaurant located next to a small square. I dined in and ordered the shrimp fried rice, which turned out to be really good. The portion was generous, and the rice had that nice “wok hei” aroma that you can only get from proper stir-frying. Each grain of rice was well separated, not too dry, and perfectly seasoned. The shrimp were fresh and nicely cooked, adding great flavor to the dish. The overall taste was fragrant and satisfying, and the price was very reasonable for the quality and portion size. If you’re craving authentic Chinese-style fried rice, YiLi Restaurant is definitely...
