Ett Rum För Resande Café — Restaurant in Gotland Municipality

Around a corner of the main street leading down to the University and Almedalen you have "Ett Rum För Resande Café".

Now if that means "Ett Rum För Resande, Café" - A room for Travelers Café, or "Ett Rum För Resande Café" - A room for a traveling café, remains unknown. I don't even know if the owner knows himself.

In any case this odd café, tucked away though not too far in among the small alleyways of Visby, has to be my absolute favourite. The atmosphere is amazing, the small rustic furniture making it feel like a second home.

The various desserts offered were incredible, and I've found myself being repeatedly blown away time and time again. One knows there is love here - one can taste it.

Now, one thing that should be noted is that there is a computer ban in this establishment. I know some workaholics out there may dismay at that rule, but in my opinion I find that rule necessary. Cafés in my eyes are spaces to relax at, places to remove yourself from work and enjoy the world passing you by. It's meditative, and thusly it adds to the atmosphere of the establishmet.

As the first customers of the day, we arrived to freshly baked pies cooling in the window and fresh almaretti from the oven. Both owners greeted us. They are so friendly, funny, and kind.

I had the best yogurt parfait ever. Both the yogurt and granola made right there in a quaint, functional kitchen. Seating inside and out, in the courtyard next door.
