We ate lunch here. My wife had already wanted to eat here once, but hadn't been convinced by the plates in the display window, and apparently the restaurant that was once popular with the locals has become nothing but a place for tourists since the change of owners, with the locals no longer going there (which is a sign). But today, I was the one who really wanted to enjoy this truly unique garden! We had a Marguerita pizza, goat's cheese salad and Köttbullar. The salad was pretty (all the salads in the display window were well-stocked, generous and with interesting products (quinoa, beet purée, etc...)) but once faced with it, it must have stayed too long in the window: the salad was dry and wilted. And the whole thing was dry (with no salad dressing or vinaigrette). Warning for allergy sufferers: the goat's cheese was high in histamine (I had to pay the price!).
The Köttbullar plate was simple (which is what you'd expect). But the industrial meatballs were disgraceful! My wife almost told the staff she wouldn't pay for it! It didn't look like Köttbullar on the outside, and the inside was... how can I put this... like a meat substitute, a sort of mass with egg white, the taste and texture were horrible! My children, who are used to eating it and love it, couldn't finish! (by the way, I don't know if they've changed supplier, but they didn't look any of the other photos of Köttbullar that can be seen on other reviews of this restaurant...). In short, this was clearly the worst. In the end, the Marguerita pizza, which was very simple and nothing extraordinary, turned out to be the best dish, which is an understatement! The coffee was very good. And the garden in the middle of these ruins is exceptional! It's a shame to...
Read moreTerrible experience. I felt unwell while dining here and leaned over the table to rest. A bald man rudely grabbed my arm to wake me up, his demeanor was poor, telling me not to sleep. After he walked away, I leaned on the table again, clearly using my phone and not sleeping, but he came over again and banged on the table aggressively, glaring and saying, 'I said don't sleep, you understand?' When I told him 'don't touch me,' he stepped even closer as if to intimidate me. I don't know what I did to upset him, maybe it's because I have an Asian face? I felt racially discriminated. I mean , he could have told me not to sleep POLITELY in the first place instead of grabbing my...
Read moreIf you want good pastries choose the ones from Själsö, otherwise they are decent at best without being freshly made. And the prices are too high with this in mind.
Cheerful and nice people behind the counters. Wonderful scenery and potential with the magic ruins, but the backyard is unfortunately littered and very dirty with trays laying about and bird poop on the seating due to the lack of clean up.
It could be a real gem but not...
