Hörnan Bar & Käk — Restaurant in Linköpings kommun

When I visited them it was a Saturday evening. We had been looking for a place to sit down for a bite to eat and something to drink that would fit the five of us (one is our 10 month god daughter). After looking around, going from place to place, "Hörnan" was the first place to have an open table. The place was swamped, but the atmosphere still felt inviting. The waiters and waitresses were working hard and understandably the service was a lagging a bit, but everyone was nonetheless accommodating and pleasant. I ate a vegan burger, it was fine albeit a bit unimaginative. My friends seemed pleased with their orders. the sides (sweet potato fries and onion rings) held up well, and the options for dipping sauces were interesting and diverse. My SO's strawberry mojito was apparently amazing.

All in all I would like to have visited them during a less stressful time to see what they are really like when they have the opportunity to really be at their best. I can still recommend them though, definitely worth a try if you want to eat and have a drink someplace casual...

I kindly recommended they advice guests who is ordering the "Hot Smoke" to be aware that it is extremely hot. The other two guests, who ordered it, had pain in their gums, which is not a pleasant.

When I mentioned that to the staff in the kitchen, I was met with: "well it's your fault who ordered that. We have other guests who like it"

And the sweet potato fries did not have a balance of sweetness and salt, only salt.

I've eaten before and always liked it, so hopefully this was just a blip.

I expect a decent reception from kitchen staff even if I complain,...

Vi höll nästan på att vända då personalen inte på något vis var välkomnande. Vi kom för att äta lunch en fredag och ställde oss vid bardisken för att invänta betjäning, flera minuter gick med vid flera tillfällen ögonkontakt med personalen som inte kom för att assistera oss. När så äntligen skedde blev vi bemötta av ett surt "ni beställer vid bardisken" varvid personen "ägaren???" vände och gick.... ung tjej fick ta över och undrade snabbt om vi bestämt oss utan att vi fått en meny?!?... vi valde snabbt två rätter från menyn som vi själva plockat upp. När väl maten kom var den väldigt god och lagom i portionen, all eloge till kocken. Här äter du god mat men servicen är under all kritik och förvänta dig inte att känna dig väl bemött. Vi går inte hit igen, inte våra...
