At Jensens Emporia Malmö you will be threatened with a guard if you complain about a bad dessert!
We have been Jensen's customers for more than 15 years, and have always been met with professionalism if you were dissatisfied with the food or dessert, but we learned this time that you cannot complain about a bad dessert.
After we finished our food, 1 apple pie was ordered which turned out to be in no way fresh or made with fresh ingredients. The cream tastes like those from a bottle you can buy yourself and an apple that was not edible.
We of course complained about this and did not want to pay for the dessert, hoping that we would again be met with understanding and professionalism, either in the form of not paying or a new dessert - which has only happened once before, in 15 years.
But here we were met by a Danish-speaking woman "F", who had both a provocative and confrontational attitude towards us, something we did not understand and asked why she has such an attitude. "F" defends herself by saying that we are the ones who had an attitude towards her, SHE had felt "threatened" when we complained about the dessert and therefore she could now allow herself to have the "same" attitude towards us.
The only thing we had done was complain about the dessert, which was in no way what it was supposed to be, but "F" disagreed and said we were the only ones who didn't like it, as she bent over and made us very close, she still had her provocative and confrontational attitude towards us.
She went on to say that if we didn't pay for the dessert she would call security, we were in shock, but said she could just collect them, which she didn't, we hadn't done anything wrong.
But as she continued to be anything but professional and accommodating I asked if this is how you treat old customers who complain about a bad dessert, she didn't answer. I also said that if she absolutely wanted to charge the measly 79 SEK for a bad dessert, on a bill of over 2000 SEK, we would pay it, but never come back again.
She went to collect the bill, without deducting our points from the price, "F" said we hadn't said anything, to which we said, we weren't asked either as they always do now, on the other hand her attitude was neither inviting to a conversation.
We paid and left the place.
A few days later we complained to Jensen's who passed it on to the sous chef "J" who after 2 weeks and 3 reminders finally got around to responding. The only comment he made was "as we were told" that just because we didn't like the dessert we still had to pay for it.
"J" completely ignored all our complaints about "F's" attitude and how she had treated us, no response at all to this, ergo, they claim her vile attitude towards us was acceptable.
After all, we haven't gotten through several years, spent several thousand at Jensen's in Emporia to complain about what they call a good dessert, only to get a free dessert.
They outweigh bad dessert for SEK 79 more than we had visited them in the last 15 years, this is unbelievable. They do not give the customer the benefit of the doubt, as if the 79 SEK dessert is important here and now and not that we have always been customers of Jensen's in Emporia and spent several thousand SEK every year, and would have continued to do so in the future as well.
So remember if you eat at Jensen's in Emporia, don't complain about anything, Jensen's is always right, the customer is not, even if the food/dessert is bad, you're probably the only one who doesn't like it, and then they threaten to to call the guard.
We strongly want to avoid Jensen's in Emporia in the future, you are not treated like a paying customer here, unless you want to be met with a provocative and confrontational attitude when you legitimately complain about bad food.
Hope it makes others think about whether they want to be treated the same way, we will never go...
Read moreNot a place I could ever recommend for a "Steak House". I had the Ribeye and baked potato with pepper sauce for the steak, all very common selections for the dish, or so I thought. The ribeye I asked to be cooked Medium Rare, I was told they only cook to well done, medium or rare; so medium was my selection - it came closer to well done. The steak is thin so being able to cook it accordingly is indeed difficult, I understand that, but all the gristle throughout the steak told me it wasn't at all like any ribeye I have ever had. I didn't have any high hopes for the baked potato and I was indeed left unimpressed; soggy skin and flavorless even with the butter and chive sour cream. The pepper sauce was actually sweet, the pepper sauces I have had previously were full of fresh pepper flavor and heat, needless to say I abandoned it. The meal comes with an unexpected all you can eat salad bar - there were a couple of selections that met my needs, one was the pasta salad, so 80's I know. I would have liked to try more of the salad bar selections. What was unexpected was I saw no mention on the "English" menu that there was a salad included, this led me to believe the self-serve soft ice cream was also included - nope, I got charged for the ice cream. On the service side the waitress never smiled until payment time, water glass was never offered to be refilled and I was approached by two different waitresses once seated to place my order all in quick fire succession. Never was there a "would you like more time to decide". So this is just another shopping mall...
