Overview: Vapiano is a simplicity styled restaurant with a modorn take on the decor. The staff welcomes you at a reception counter at the entrance by giving you a card to use for ordering food. The card is then used to track your orders for later payment at the reception counter while leaving.
When less crowded they seem to let you find your own table and remembering your table is a must for ordering food.
The meny is found by the cooking station(kitchen) which is the same place you order. When ordering you tell the chefs what you want, the table number and then scan the card when told to do so. Now you walk back and wait for the food to be brought to your table.
Staff: * * * * Stars Pros: The staff is really nice and gives you good instructions on how things work.
Cons: The kitchen staff seemed stressed by taking orders and seemed rushed to get back into cooking. This resulted in chefs missunderstanding orders and having the costumers repeat it.
Decor: * * * * Stars Pros: The restaurant was stylish and up to date and didn't look weared down. A lounge area was available by the bar for a drink and tables for different group sizes.
Cons: The bar stools without a backrest made it uncomfortable for a longer period.
Food: * * * Stars. Filetto di manzo e recola Pros: The plating was really nice and the overall ingredients was cooked really well.
Cons: The flavours wasn't well balanced. When working with Beef tender loin/fillet of beef you don't want the other ingrediants to overpower the meat, you want them to compliment it. On this dish i felt like it didn't compliment the meat and ingrediants overpowered the...

I lived in sweden for nearly 2 years, and have never seen such a rude staff (the one in this restaurant who seems not native swede). We are a group of 10 people (4 are kids), all of us are hungry after a long trip around the Malmo. About 9pm in the night (in google maps, the restaurant is shown to be open until 11 pm), we got into the restaurant. The staff (swedish) asked us to choose a table and we chose table 25. We all had showlder bags and we dropped them down and settled down around table, and placed the orders by mentioning the table number. After 15 minutes someone with rube behavior asked us as follows He said: "who allowed us to sit there, do you know the name, do you know the name? We answered: "We don't know". (common guys, who want to know the names of staff of a restaurant, any one would just order the food,, eat, pay and leave). He said: "whom ever allowed you to sit here has to clean after we finishes, as this table is already cleaned and closed". We answered: This seems to be a bit scary to us. If one of the staff allowed us to sit, and even place the order on this table number (25). How come some one with poor manners can talk to us which is not related to us at all. He said: We were little got scared with this guy's attitude. Big eyes wide open, and loud voice, and he was arguing with ladies when the men were a bit away. We answered: One of the men from our group then told him not to talk to us, as we got annoyed by his poor behavior with guests.
Then a lady staff who seems to be a swede has helped us moving to other table. Long story short, "very bitter experience at Malmo...
Read moreI visited Vapiano in Malmö recently and had hoped for a relaxed dinner with some good Italian food, but unfortunately, it didn’t really live up to expectations.
We ordered the Lemon Chicken Pasta, a pizza, and two starters. The pasta looked quite nice when it arrived, but the taste was really disappointing. It was bland, the lemon flavour was barely noticeable, and the pasta itself was actually undercooked and quite hard. The pizza didn’t impress either, not terrible, but it lacked flavour and didn’t feel very Italian.
Service was friendly and fast, and the QR code ordering system worked smoothly, which I appreciated. But when we went to sit down, many of the tables weren’t clean, so we had to walk around a bit to find one that was okay. Probably a staffing issue, but still something that affects the experience.
One thing I liked was the open kitchen, it’s always interesting to see the food being made. At the same time, the chefs looked quite tired and not very happy, which made the atmosphere feel a bit low. Maybe they’re just overworked?
In the end, we paid 440 SEK for two mains and two starters, and honestly, barely enjoyed anything. It just didn’t feel worth the price. The food was too bland, and the Italian flavours were missing.
Overall, Vapiano Malmö has some good systems in place and the staff are doing their best, but the food really needs more attention, and for the price, you...
