At first glance it all seems perfect. Buzzwords such as "Japanese", "Authentic" and "Ramen" leave our mouths salivating much like Pavlov's dogs. To start off this Google Review-dialogue we have to make the following clear. Yes, this is an authentic Japanese ramen experience. However, what most of us don't know is that the traditional Japanese ramen broth is meant to be salty. And when I say salty I mean incredibly salty. Yes, salty. After having indulged in the spicy miso ramen, I was left thinking "well the chef must have just spilled an extra kilo of salt in my ramen". The gentleman serving us made sure to answer our salt-queries. He enlightened us with fables from the ancient Japanese ramen culture. In this culture, kids are taught from an early age not to eat the broth due to the kidney-damaging salt levels.
While the broth wore my kidneys down, I thoroughly enjoyed the noodles. Absolutely delicious, perfect-noodle-consistency. The egg, well it tasted like a boiled egg (?).
The place definitely has a great ambiance. Make sure to visit at least once when hungry and passing by.
To summarize. Salty. Fantastic...
Read moreThe ramen is great for an affordable price. The side-menus could definitely use some more work.
Update: Visited here again for their Tonkotsu Ramen 5th August. 3/5 stars. -broth is very hearty, and with a ton of umami. Impressed! -noodles were a bit of a disappointment. The consistency felt undercooked, and not like the usual. A bit of flour flavor/after-taste was prominent. It didn’t have that “chewiness”. Wish there was a possibility to choose the firmness of the noodles. -Chashu was mid, not marinated enough and not much taste. Could use more flavors. -marinated egg was PERFECT. Nothing more to say. Perfectly cooked, perfectly marinated. -why is there random lettuce/cabbage in the ramen 😂. The bitterness is not a good match. Not suitable for Japanese ramen where the flavors are supposed to be in the broth. The lettuce/cabbage ruins the broth. Better suited in...
Read moreCozy and with genuine ramen shop-feeling. Staff was great and seemed to be a good team. I ate the Spicy Miso Ramen level 1 and it was insanely good. If you like just a bit of spicy, level 1 is perfect. The broth was delicious and the noodles perfect! I drank the non-alcoholic wheat beer and it was cold and simple in flavour, didn't mess with the ramen at all. My girlfriend ate the Miso Ramen and I must say that the broth was smooth, full and had an intense flavour. It made me question my choice and will be my selection on our next visit. The chashu looked thin and dry, but it was juicy and excellent. If you are a ramen-lover you must visit. If you are a first timer, this is the best place to start. In Malmö and, in my opinion, Copenhagen. It doesn't get...
