Restaurang Nils — Restaurant in Malmö kommun

Had the New Year's eve set menu and was really disappointed. What we hoped would be a nice cozy dinner turned out to something that we just wanted to get over with so we could go home. When we arrived a few min before the booked time (apparently the restaurant scheduled all guests to come at the same time) the coat hanger was already full, and when asking the waitress where we could hang our coats she said (while loudly chewing gum) -" ehhhhh...it has to be on the chairs then". We were finally seated in a very well lit room approx 15 cm from another couple, where my coat had to hang down on the floor in the small space where other guests and staff had to squeeze past. We should have left already then... But I asked if we could sit at the bar instead, and was "allowed" to move by the surprised the non understanding gum-chewer. As expected service was slow. We took one veggie option and one with meat. Jerusalem artichoke soup was very tasty (but please don't put big branches of thyme in it!). The tuna/avocado starter was ok. We were asked too keep the cutlery between the dishes (very festive feeling?!). The risotto was horrible (looked like and had the consistency of a big pile of porridge) served with no sides. The meat was big but too well done. The dessert contained gluten - despite us clearly mentioning this allergen in the booking!! a very dry sponge cake, some syrup, berries and out of the can whipped cream. Had to stand inline to pay our drinks, and were asked to pay for our pre-paid set menu. It was wise of Nils to ask for pre-payment of the food, otherwise they would have had many discussions with customers not wanting to pay.

I hope the restaurant realised that they cannot handle this type of set menu simultaneous service. If you want nice food and friendly service, pick...

Update: 1 year later I went back for another lunch. Service was fantastic and very friendly, food was great.

I've been meaning to try this place for a while mainly because I've heard good things. I came here for lunch on a weekday. Overall, the menu sounded good, but the food was just "fine" and the service really lacked, but the decor was nice.

Service: Seriously waitresses. Does it really pain you so much to just put a smile on your face. The overall attitude was "we really don't care about anything here". When we arrived we stood by the door for a good minute or two before the waitress even looked up from her computer. Only to slowly walk over to us and not greet us at all. Not a single thank you, greeting, or smile, during the entire lunch. Ok...?

Food: I orded the sirloin steak. I cut the steak and it was basically completely raw. Maybe it was my fault for not specifying how I wanted it cooked, but the waitress never asked me, and I don't usually assume "raw" is the default. I asked to get it seared a bit more, and it returned much better. However, the steak was super tough. The sauce and potato was good, but...

Unpolite service. I visited the place two times and the experience was the same. The woman speak aggressively on the phone…I understand there are stressful days but there is no need to be aggressive with clients. In the end I wanted to leave some tip and she press the button no tip and made me pay with an unfriendly face. 🤷‍♀️ Other than that the food was delicious. The place is elegant, beautiful.
