A place with great potential and a library which I have enjoyed visiting since I came to Sweden. But these days, I am also seeing the not so go side of it as well. It seems Stadsbibioteket is not very keen on ordering English books and periodicals. I tried ordering a UK based weekly English newspaper for children through Suggest a purchase but it did not go through. I also have been following up with them from the past 3 years to get some literature in marathi language. From 4 months, the status of those books is in ordered state and no progress on that. We hold marathi book reading sessions at Stadsbiblioteket, but there are so many constrainsts from them that the sessions should be there only on weekdays. I find it wierd since there are many other sessions and activities on weekends. It feels that the staff always has many reasons to give whenever we ask for something. But there is no progress. Seems thats Stadsbiblioteket ignores things they want to ignore and still try to paint a picture that its the best place in the city as far as books are concerned. They support other languages and you can find even regular newspapers in those languages in there. But for Indian languages and even for English books and periodicals, the attitude is really very sad. There are not many books of Indian languages in there and they even dont accept book donations if someone wants to donate with a good motive. I still do read and borrow books from here and am grateful for the good work they are doing but the above stuff is what I have personally...

Anyhow it's a really enjoyable learning space. The library is large, with many different sectors, huge space for kids, nice cabins builded in a tower shape, where you can study and see all around you. Many services available, also printing. The nicest thing is that there is even a small...

Each area is thoughtfully designed, with different kinds of chairs and desks, and almost all the spaces have nice views being surrounded by incredible greenery. I know people have different studying environments they like, and I can almost guarantee you anyone can find a spot or two (or more!) that they will like. Clean bathrooms on every floor, and they even have a cafe downstairs if you want food or coffee. Good speedy and reliable WiFi. I saw books in many different languages too. To top it off, it’s also very kid friendly! Lots of play areas inside and outside the...
