Nestled in the heart of the city, Aama Himalayan Kitchen Stockholm is a hidden gem that offers a delightful culinary journey through the breath-taking Himalayan region. As an adventurous foodie, I was eager to explore the unique flavours of this lesser-known cuisine, and Aama Himalayan Kitchen Stockholm did not disappoint. Upon entering was immediately struck by the warm and inviting ambience. The rustic decor, with its furnishings, soft lighting, and Himalayan-inspired artwork, created a cozy and intimate atmosphere that transported me to the mystical valleys of the Himalayas. The pleasant background music added to the overall charm of the restaurant. The service at restaurant was top-notch. The service was prompt and efficient, without being intrusive, which allowed me to fully enjoy my dining experience. The highlight of the restaurant is undoubtedly the authentic Himalayan cuisine that it offers. The menu features a wide array of dishes from the Himalayan region, including Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, and India, with a focus on locally sourced ingredients and traditional cooking techniques. I started my culinary adventure with the momos, which are traditional Himalayan dumplings. The momos were simply outstanding. The delicate dumpling wrappers were perfectly steamed, and the filling of minced chicken and vegetables was bursting with flavour. The accompanying dipping sauce added a tangy kick that elevated the dish to another level. Next, I tried the thukpa, a popular Himalayan noodle soup. The rich broth was fragrant with herbs and spices, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. The generous portions of tender chicken and fresh vegetables made it a hearty and satisfying dish that left me craving for more. Overall, my experience was a culinary adventure that exceeded my expectations. The authentic Himalayan flavours, warm ambience, and excellent service made it a memorable experience. Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of dining at Aama Himalayan kitchen, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The combination of the owner's warm and welcoming nature, authentic cuisine, and outstanding service made it a dining experience worth remembering.
From the moment we stepped inside, the owner greeted us with a genuine smile and made us feel right at home. His hospitality and attentiveness throughout our meal were remarkable, adding a personal touch to the dining experience that is often hard to find. The food surpassed all expectations. Every dish we tried was bursting with authentic flavors that transported us to the heart of Nepal, especially the momos and soup. The momos were perfectly steamed, with a delectable filling and a dipping sauce that complemented them beautifully. The soup was rich and comforting, and the best part was Pravesh(Chef/Owner) kindly offered us refills without hesitation, ensuring we left completely satisfied.
Furthermore, I was delighted to learn that the chicken served is halal.
Last but not the least, the Chai (ginger tea) is a must try. If you're a tea lover seeking an authentic taste then this is an absolute must-visit.
Having had such a wonderful experience, I am eagerly anticipating my next visit as I have heard great things about their weekend specials, and I simply cannot wait to try all of it. I have no doubt that the same level of quality, warmth, and authenticity will be present in every...
Read moreI would give them more stars if possible! The food was amazing! We ordered the Chicken Thukpa! The broth was very well balanced. Not too oily (which you find far too often) and layers of flavor! The noodles with minced chicken fills your belly. Such a nice dish in the cold Swedish weather. We also ordered the Potato & Cheese sandwich. This was a panini pressed style sandwich with mashed (not puréed) potatoes and cheese. There were some light herbs and spices and cooked onions mixed in the potatoes. Also well balanced and served hot with a delicious mango sauce! We shared the Chicken Momos (dumplings) which came with 2 different sauces! Both of them flavorful and different in their own way. My favorite was the mint sauce! We topped if off with a Chai Tea (1 with ginger and the other with cardamom) fresh steamed milk. To summarize, everything was very well balanced in flavor and the staff was very friendly. So I f you like things spicy, just ask them. If you’re looking for something that stands out from the average spots to eat at here in Stockholm, this is it! Especially perfect in this wintery-cold weather season! (Sorry for not posting any pics. I was too hungry to...
