Happy to find this restaurant in Stockholm that features Chinese cuisine from North Eastern parts.
The specialty here are grilled meat / innards served on long, thin metallic skewers. There are also some stir-frys, dumplings and a couple of Korean dishes like Bibimbap and Cold noodles.
Our orders 🔸️ Northeast China Salad ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very enjoyable dish of mixed vegetables salad with black fungus and beancurd skins.
The vegetables were fresh and very refreshing. The dressing of vinegar with sesame oil is fruity but light.
🔸️ Skewers ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Most of skewers selections have each a minimum order of 3 except for the larger & meatier items where you can order 2.
The marinate of cumin and other spices used for coating the meat is what makes these skewers so tasty. The food here is lightly salted and allows the freshness of the meat to be savoured.
The skewers have a waiting time of at least 15mins as they are freshly grilled. It was nice to that each table has its own hotplate to keep the meat warm.
We loved the Grilled Pork Belly skewers the most as these were flavourful and soft. The grilled lamb / beef were good too.
The New Orleans grilled chicken wings were tasty but nothing special. These are just chicken wings coated and grilled with the same marinate.
For innards, we only tried the Chicken gizzards. Gizzards are usually hard and crunchy but otherwise don't taste very much so these were just like that. If you don't have other people sharing with you, suggest to skip unless you really like innards as 3 skewers of the same thing is too much for 1 person.
🔸️ Yuxiang eggplant pot ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Accompanied with steamed white rice. YUMS 👍. The eggplant stir-fried with chili peppers, garlic, ginger, scallion, black vinegar, sugar, and soy sauce was served on a mini claypot warmed over a tea candle.
🔸️ Pu'er tea in a pot ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The food is oily so the hot tea really helps to clease the palate and aid digestion.
Overall good experience and great service! Only thing is the restaurant is...
Read moreFrom the food we've tried, we like most of them. The Korean cold noodle is my personal favourite, super nice to have on a summer day. The grilled octopus in aluminium box is very tasty with strong flavour. It goes good with grilled bread or plain rice. The rice is not on the menu but available on request, might be pricey though. The cold starters - Kimchi and sweet sour radish - are quite refreshing. They go well with all the skewers. Lamb skewers and lamb kidneys are yummy. The portion is small. It may be designed this way so that foodies can try more variations. There was only one person serving in the dining area when we ate there. He is very friendly and service-minded. Since he was serving alone, he juggled between tables. This made the serving experience a bit chaotic. It's the first Chinese BBQ (northeast style) place in town, definitely...
Read moreAuthentic North Eastern Chinese (Manchurian Area) food is being served here. The grilled lamb skewers were juicy and the spices of choice totally removed the odor of the lamb. The small shelf on the table helped preserve the warmth of the food, which is very important for North Eastern Chinese BBQ. The Korean sweet sour cold noodle soup was really good, one bite of it took me back to my childhood memories, I’ll definitely come back to eat it on a hot summer day. The hot stone pot Bibimbap kept the food warm to the very last bite, and the rice that got a bit burnt by the pot was very crispy and crunchy. The grilled squid was unfortunately nothing special, even a bit too greasy. However the BBQ skewers were not really value of money, I would expect bigger portions or more delicate presentations/environment...
