Beck Kaffebar — Restaurant in Stockholm

Busy coffee shop near Medborgarplatsen station. Has seating outside on patio chairs and inside with mix of booths and chairs and high top tables. Tight seating. One small bathroom. In the corner: be careful opening the door as it is very close to another high top table. Pasties, sandwiches, and cinnamon buns. Service: Pleasant, prompt, and very little small talk. Had a croissant, which was flakey and soft in the middle, delicious. Also had a flat white: coffee has a roasted nutty taste with clean dry end. Right amount of caffeine. Very bustling coffee shop, some people doing work on laptops. May be hard to get on outdoor patio table since there are only 3-4. Cost: Flat white and croissant = 72 kr. Signature clay cups are handmade and I am told are 600 kr. If you stay in, you can use their signature cup. Overall would return, but with a small group or by myself as the place...

Coffee bean aromas wrap around you like a warm hug before being greeted with the inviting smile of its staff. “And what would you like to pair with this beautiful coffee? The sweet buns are still warm.” beautiful the coffee was and warm the buns were.

The atmosphere is cosy, a kin to a community. Friends catching up, gym clubs hanging out, kind eyes scanning newspapers. As I sat in the corner reading my book, I felt part of this community without knowing anyones name. The nicest cafe I have been to in Stockholm, and I don’t say this lightly given that I live for coffee shops around the city. What makes this so special is the warmth and conviviality you get served along with the tasty food and delicious coffee. For the hour I sat in the cafe reading my book, I observed that the baristas had a smile and warm conversation and laughs for everyone who came up to the counter. It created such a lively and welcoming atmosphere and made it seem like a neighbourhood haven where everyone knows your name.
