La Patagonia — Restaurant in Stockholm

I had this restaurant as my "Want to go"-bookmark in Google Map for a while. I got recommended this place by a friend of a friend. Yesterday I had some Chilean food cravings and this place satisfied them for me.

I had the a full three course lunch at the place, beginning with some sopaipillas with some chimichurri, later the entrance was two smaller empanadas (beef and cheese) and again with the same chimichurri.

Once that was absorbed and done the waitress came with the real meal of the day, which was viel beef with potato pure and some assorted salad. The food was good and had all the Chilean hallmarks in place. At the end I had some thé and cake (torta de mil hojas).

Let me tell you, that was good. I've tasted better, but it rounded off the total meal quite nicely and I was really full at that point. So full that I had to use the restroom, while in the restroom I saw the biggest tree trunk in a room I have ever seen. I told the personal of the restaurant that I left a rather large log in the restroom, the response from them tells me that it was not the first time they head that.

Came for dinner a friday night as a couple. Ordered the empanadas for starters and two different main courses, the slow cooked meat and the vegetarian meal of the week. Great portion sizes!! Super good to share and all the flavours were there, gave me a very good impression of Chilean food. They also have a great array of cocktails, beer, and wine from chile and the cocktail was very, very good! The prices were between 190-300kr per dish which is entirely reasonable considering the portion sizes and quality of the food in Stockholm!

Our server, Julia, was absolutely wonderful and very helpful, she definitely made the whole experience better, which is wonderful to experience from a night out. Although not in a cozy area of Stockholm, the atmosphere on the inside is cozy but also modern and comfortable, and the music and light gave a great vibe. The chef is from Chile and you can definitely tell. Alot of passion goes into the making of this place.

This place, staff, owners and everyone else involved deserves everything good coming their way. I came over and wanted to eat there at the one time of the day when they close down for 1 hour to clean up after lunch and start preparing to serve for dinner. Nene (the server deserves a raise if anyone is reading) has in typical Chilean fashion as hospitable as they are, allowed us to stay and served us a lovely pork chops with fries, sause and it was exquisite. Not only that the food was delicious and the service was above and beyond but it was also very affordable because together with coffee and soda it was a 160SEK per person which is unbeatable.
