The general atmosphere of the restaurant was contemporary and chic. However, despite having made a reservation well in advance and requesting to be seated on the top floor we were denied the liberty of the same. It must be noted that the entirety of the top floor was empty — possible prejudice? 🙂 The basement seating was considerably claustrophobic and poorly lit almost mimicking a dungeon-esque environment.
When coming to remark on the food, the portions were ample and beyond generous. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the taste which was predominantly subpar. The lamb shanks were undercooked, several of the dips and components in the tasting platter were overpowering and overseasoned. Even the cocktail presentation was quite lacklustre.
It must be noted that the food wasn't atrocious and gives you a bang for your buck if you're looking to eat a big meal. However, food enthusiasts and critics who're going to dine here for a cohesive culinary experience that leaves your tastebuds tingling — I'd say this is a Lebanese restaurant you can...
Read moreJust want to mention in advance that I have first been to Tabbouli in Södermalm where I was totally amazed by the good quality of food and excellent service. In Kungsholmen, things were slightly different. The food was still good but not as good and frankly, we were a bit surprised when our warm dishes arrived in less that five minutes after we ordered. The service was very poor. The waitress looked bored and somewhat unwilling, the waiter made us wait to eternity before we could ask for the check, although we had informed him 15 minutes prior to our exit that we were done with everything. After having no one coming to ask if we would like anything else. we walked to the register and asked to pay. The waitress was seated comfortably, typing on her phone and the waiter was also on his phone but outside, sitting on one of the restaurant tables, smoking. Both very relaxed and aloof.
For 8 dishes of the tasting menu + 2 beers, we...
Read moreAfter a pleasant dinner at Tabbouli Djurgården, I didn’t expect to get disappointed with the food this much in here. The cold dishes were ok, almost as good as the ones I had on Djurgården. However the warm dishes were terrible. The falafel and kibbeh were super dry, I needed to eat them while drinking liquid. The chicken wings were not fresh, the meat tasted like it had been frozen for a long time. The mozzarella in the deep fried cheese rolls was off as well, the texture was more watery than normal. The grilled lamb was overcooked and dry. The waiters were very nice but they unfortunately forgot about our...
