La Creperie — Restaurant in Aarau

As tourists, who speak English we went to this place having seen it on a website. Saying it had the most amazing crepes. We went inside and were told to sit outside when we tried to order at the till. So fine, we got out of the way as we were looking through the menus. Fine, we moved and sat down waiting to be served. Then the waitress completely ignored us about three times when we clearly wanted to be served. And we also tried speaking what we knew of german (we are leaning German but can’t speak it fluently). Finally, after seeing the woman serve 2 tables of children before us and even giving them their crepes we got up and left. We didn’t cause a fuss, we just wanted to get served. So if you only speak English I do not recommend this at all as they seem to dislike tourists. And this place does not cater for gluten free people, therefore only the rest of my family was planning to eat, except me. I don’t think I’m being unreasonable considering it wasn’t busy and there was only 3 other families. And I doubt the waiting time would’ve...

We were “greeted” by an exceptionally rude staff member who almost marched us out because they were full. A lady was getting ready to leave and waived us down to indicate we can take that table. As we were waiting, this rude staff member asked us to wait outside as she wasn’t happy with us there.

Fortunately, once we were seated, the other server was really friendly and polite and offered the kids some toys to make the wait more fun as the kitchen was busy.

The crepes were good and the menu is extensive. We did order one galette and everything else as a crepe, but ended up getting all crepes; it was quite busy, so that’s OK.

The ambiance is rather basic and not really inviting.

Ich bin seit jahren begeisterter kunde jedoch habe ich schon seit längerem bemerkt dass es nicht mer dass ist was es einmal war. Die crepes sind nach wie vor sehr lecker jedoch ist die kundenbetreuung in meinen augen nicht mehr so gut. Nun 2 beispiele: Was bedeutet wochenhit? Das wort sagt es schon, es ist der hit einer woche (7tage) Seit einiger zeit ist der wochenhit nun manchmal ein zwei oder auch gerne mal willkürlich und wechselt mitten in der woche, trotzdem heisst er nach wie vor wochenhit…. Mehrmals habe ich im internet den wochenhit nachgeschaut, bin extra zu der creperia aarau gefahren und wurde dann vertröstet dass dieser nicht mer vorhanden währe ( dies mitten unter der woche) Heute kahm es endgültig zu dem punkt wo ich dies alles nicht mer akzeptieren kann. Die freundin meines kollegen hat eine cola bestellt die kein bischen kohlensäure enthalten hat…. Ich ging mit der cola zu der angestellten, diese holte darauf hin eine grosse flasche cola aus dem kühler wo noch ein kleiner bonden (ca 4cm) cola enthalten war und teilte mir mit sie könne keine neue flasche cola öffnen solange die angebrochene nicht aufgebraucht ist…. Nach nachfragen und kritik kam sie dann plötzlich mit dem vorschlag sie könne mir eine dosencola geben…. Trotzdem finde ich es eine frechheit dass ich zuerst zu hören bekam man könne keine neue flasche öffnen bevor der vorschlag mit der dose kam... Das erste mal in meinem leben dass ich einem restaurant keinen rappen trinkgeld gegeben habe und sogleich auch das erste mal dass ich so etwas erlebt habe und dies bei...
