Bistro-Trattoria City Bern — Restaurant in Bern

My wife, daughter and I had just arrived in Bern on a mid-August Saturday evening, and found few restaurants open near our hotel. We walked up to this place right at 8pm and saw the lights inside turn off as the owner and his assistant came out the front door. I asked them if they were closing and they said "no", and told us that they served doners and pizzas. They then seated us outside at our request, as the evening was comfortably cool. As it was late in the day, they had a limited menu available. The girls ordered doners, and I had a prosciutto and mushroom pizza. The owner and his assistant were friendly and helpful. Our drinks and then our meals came timely. The girls were very impressed with the doners, saying that they could taste a slight charring from flames on the meat that made these doners better than others they'd had.
