My recent visit chez Rüfi left me disheartened due to the lack of satisfactory customer service, particularly in the instance involving the waitress, Rachel. Upon requesting a straw to accompany my juice, I was met with a surprising refusal. To compound matters, when I politely referenced a previous occasion when a straw was provided, Rachel's response was dismissive, suggesting I can bring my own.
This incident is reflective of a concerning trend I've observed over several years: a noticeable discrepancy in the treatment of locals versus foreigners. While younger staff members generally exhibit warmth and courtesy, those over the age of 30 consistently demonstrate unfriendliness, especially towards non-local patrons.
This disparity not only detracts from the overall dining experience but also undermines the cafe's reputation as an inclusive and welcoming establishment. Every patron deserves to feel valued and respected, regardless of their nationality or background.
