I'm writting this review while I'm having my coffee and desert. Great view of lake and a very cozy place but the waitress is horrible. Since the moment my mum and I stepped in, we can experience the rude tone as if we are not welcomed here. One can feel the discriminating racist tone. I have seen a lot of tourists here and that's why we stopped but they don't have any English menu. The waitress approached us with this aggressive, "what you want" sort of tone with a flat face and when I said we don't speak German, she shrugged her shoulders and sighed. I wanted to place an order for a coffee and tea with a Tiramisu without Alcohol, but she was reluctant to help me understand the menu in any way. Every time I asked any question she just sighed and let us know that our questions are bothering her. Regardless I ordered what I had to order and kept experiencing the amazingly horrible hospitality. I'm paying now and if I ever pass by again this route, I will definitely avoid this place. I don't understand why one established would accept tourist and treat them horribly. Better just not welcome them at all. And if the owner is reading this, I suggest you to fly to Asia and learn a thing or two about hospitality and guest service. That would help you.

We visited Restaurant Löwen in Brienz and had a very disappointing experience. The staff displayed extremely rude and racist behavior towards non-German speaking guests, including myself. Although I understand not everyone speaks German, that is no reason to make foreign tourists feel unwelcome or uncomfortable. We were served by a lady with a boycut hairstyle and a slightly above average personality, who seemed uninterested in providing good hospitality. I was charged 3 Swiss francs for tap water but only received a single glass. Such practices, combined with the unpleasant attitude, made the entire visit feel unwelcoming and unfriendly. I will be reporting this experience to the Brienz council and Interlaken Tourism office and urge all non-German speaking tourists to avoid this place. Very poor hospitality—choose other restaurants in Brienz for a better experience.

It is located right next to the lake, so the view is beautiful. We sat outside. It was a bit chilly but they have blankets so that was nice. The food was very good - we had fish and chips. The portion size was good for the price. It wasn't the fastest service, but that didn't bother us because we weren't in a rush - the view is awesome so rather look at that than your watch ;-) The waitress that helped us was friendly and could speak English. I would recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.

2 stars only for the food, which was ok. But the staff! Completely horrible experience and it was probably the worst one we ever had. We came to the restaurant and noone even said hello. For the menu we waited more than 10 minutes, although the waiter was around. Then we ordered and waited for 35 minutes for food. (That I would accept as I know terrace was busy). But what I would not accept is the staff's behaviour. We wanted to order also a dessert- but again, we waited for more than 10 minutes with empty glasses, noone even asked if we want something more to drink. We waited and waited and waited.. 3 people from staff talking and laughing on the bar and noone even cared to come and ask if we have chosen some dessert or not. I was really upset, interupted the talking ongoing between the staff and asked for a bill. Waiter came, gave us the bill without a word- I said we will pay with card. She disappeared without a word - I thought she needed to get the card machine. But in the meantime she brought dirty glasses from some table and took another drinks to some table. So we waited again, lovely :) then she came back, didnt even say the amount we need to pay, took the payment and left. Without any word- goodbye, thank you, have a nice day, nothing. This is a very very sad stor and I was really disappointed and upset and this made me sure that I will never ever come back again. Althought the location and food is good, the service is a tragedy. If I was an owner- I would never want people like this to work at the restaurant I own. With my best...

I regret to say that my recent dining experience at this restaurant was deeply disappointing. While the food was passable, the service left much to be desired. Our server, an elderly woman, was not only unfriendly but also exhibited overt rudeness throughout our meal.

Despite our group consisting of 6 patrons, including a child, and despite the fact that the restaurant was not particularly busy at the time of our visit, we were met with hostility when requesting sharing plates. The server's response, delivered in a rude manner, was, "YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR IT." This abrupt and impolite interaction left us feeling unwelcome and disrespected.

It is profoundly disheartening to encounter such behavior, especially in an establishment that should strive to provide a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all customers. Racism has no place in any setting, let alone a restaurant meant to serve and accommodate diverse clientele.

In addition to the disrespectful attitude displayed by the server, the overall level of service was lacking. Despite our efforts to support the business by ordering multiple mains, desserts, and drinks at 4pm (past lunch time), we were made to feel like an inconvenience rather than valued patrons.

In conclusion, while the food may be acceptable, the discriminatory and disrespectful behavior exhibited by the staff, particularly towards our group, is entirely unacceptable. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone until they address and rectify these glaring issues with their service and attitudes...
