The hotel is situated on the edge of town where several major roads converge and there is a petrol station next door. Bad news? Not at all. It turned out to be the best possible choice. I had a very comfortable ground floor room with my own parking space. There was hardly any traffic noise so the rooms must be very well insulated. Everything was very clean. The guest card gave me free use of local transport and free or reduced entry to museums and other attractions. The bus stop was directly across the road from the hotel and there were buses every ten minutes or so into town and the railway station. The quality of the food was outstanding and the fresh wholemeal bread at breakfast absolutely delicious. I cannot recommend the Hotel Sommerau highly enough.
