About forty of us gathered at the T3E Terre for a great celebration of a friend of ours. ||||As we arrived we were greeted with a nice aperitivo on the terrace. This was a good Prosecco and a really good voul au vent of mouse foie gras and puff pasty cheese straws. It sent the scene nicely as old and new friends caught up.||||The meal itself was really good. A creative Nüssli Salad, with strips of bacon and finger croutons followed by a Veal steak with dauphinoise potatoes and asparagus served with a choice of red or white wines. The dessert of pineapple carpaccio with a sorbet and a dessert wine I have not had for such a long time, a Moscato d'Asti, a wine isweet and low in alcohol, and certainly enjoyed with the dessert. Then the birthday cake to finish. Really a great meal and selection.||||The restaurant has a terrific view looking down into the gorge at Ponti Brolla where the Maggia river flows through. I think this gorge is really dramatic and it is always one of my favourite spots to take visitors before we go into the valleys. ||||Marco and Loredana and the T3e team made us really welcome and offered a really good, attentive service to all||||T3e is setting a great standard, the selection on the menu looks exciting and well thought through and presented.||||Well worth visiting and ideal for celebrations...

Read moreWhen you travel to southern Switzerland plan for a stop in Tegna, a small town near Locarno. ||On a recent trip to Switzerland we stayed at the lovely t3eTerre. The hotel has only a few rooms which makes it very intimate. The rooms are well appropriated and look out onto lovely vistas. The food makes Tegna a special stop.||||We ate the first night at t3eTerre. Marco, who with his wife Loredana, own the hotel is the chef. The food is 5 star! Everything Marco cooks is not only delicious but also very creative. The service and wine list is impeccable. We would have eaten at t3eTerre every night but they are closed after the weekend for a much needed break. (Loredana serves breakfast every morning for those who stay at the hotel.)||||Within a 5 minute walk there are 3 other fine restaurants which are also VERY good. If you go ask Loredana to make reservations for you. ||||The restaurant opposite of t3Terre is Centovalli. The risotto is the best I've ever had.||Up the street is Al Castagneto. This is a good place to go when you can sit outside on their terrace.||Up the hill is Da Enzo. This restaurant is pricey but the atmosphere and terrace...
