Ristorante Amarea — Restaurant in Circolo di Carona

Atmosphere wise I would say it's good but I went at a time when there weren't many people. Service wise, we went with our dog and they did bring water to the dog but it seemed the waiter was scared of the dog even tho there was obviously other waiters that weren't scared of the dog(they can't save pet him) they still send the same person to our table. Now lastly good wise, I didn't like it at all. I come from a port city and I can tell yo that all what we were served was frozen. The dish consisting of 4 shrimps were leaking water; costing around 16 or 18 CHF. The fried squid was also frozen, without salt and swimming in oil and also around the price of 18 - 21 CHF.

For main dishes we had a salmon burger, a 1/4 frozen grilled octopus and around 100g of frozen grilled tuna in peaces. All these dishes DON'T HAVE sides. I SPECIFICALLY asked, and we were told that dishes don't have sides. Instead they brought a bucket with... FROZEN fries, or at least they felt like it.

For drinks we had 2 bottles of TAP water, 1 coke and 1 beer. All that cost us 140+ CHF. In my opinion very expensive for the quality of the food and attendance that they weren't rude, but it wasn't amazing. And fire the cherry on top, they serve you a paper bag with 5 pieces of bread with a smashed fly or some kind of insect in it with the blood squirting and all. We arrived at 18:08 on 27/08, the restaurant says it opens 18:00 but we were initially asked to leave in a rude manner. After kindly requesting to stay they let us having a drink till they get ready. Then 2 more companies arrived and they let them order before us. All this time they didn’t serve us any water maybe as a punishment for coming early. The seafood (octopus and shrimps) weren’t fresh. The shrimps were improperly defrozen, were too soft and had a lot of water. The octopus tasted like plastic. The salad however was good. Also flies were flying inside all the time. We ate the same night in another place “Jo fishbar” in the city center and we definitely recommend if you want to have good seafood in Lugano. Rude service, food was not ok. Can you pls post pics of the broken lamps. This is a complete lie. The played with on old grinder and a lamp, everything was fine when we left. When I entered I asked before sitting down you have spaghetti, and you said yes. After that you came and yelled at me that you do not have 2 different pots to cook 2 different pastas. The mess my children made was as any one year and 4 year old will do. The poached egg was horrible, that is why we did not order any food.
