Nangijala — Restaurant in Disentis/Mustér

Nangijala, located in Disentis, was a delightful surprise on our journey from Zermatt to St. Moritz. If you're considering an alternative to the Glacier Express, this charming stop is worth considering. The small rooms at Nangijala are undeniably cozy and come with their own bathrooms, adding a touch of convenience and privacy that's appreciated after a day of travel.

The bar and dining area at Nangijala are a highlight, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels like a local's favorite hangout. The burgers here are a standout, bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. It's clear the kitchen takes pride in what they serve, even if the prices for food and drinks reflect the upscale quality you're getting.

We stayed here as a large group from London in November, not for skiing as it was pre-season but we caught the first snowfall. Normally I wouldn't bother writing reviews but the guys who run this place went out of their way to make us feel welcome. It's a little walk outside the centre, but it's worth it for the relaxed atmosphere of the bar - good music, decent locally sourced food & craft beers. They know what is going on in the rest of the world! ||We stayed in the new guest house building, compact rooms but modern, robust and well designed. This is set slightly apart from the main building and the terrace and has its own breakfast room overlooking a little stream. I would say its good for groups and active individuals coming to ski or bike. If you want a big room where you can watch CNN rather than talk to people and be social, go...
