Too good to be true. After eating around in Europe for 40+ years I am used to good Chinese eating places. This place beats all my experiences. Everything with very high quality ingredients. Fresh. Professional cooks and very helpful staff. Fresh crabs, lobsters and fruits de mer for starters. Chinese sweet and sour soup with a few fresh chilis nicely making a distinct taste. Sushi and spring rolls any many other things I did not try. Dumplings. White rice (with green peas). Wok with plenty of ingredients to choose from. Vegetables, fish and juicy beef. Cooked and brought to your table very quickly. Other ready to eat dishes like red and green Thai curry. Very mild for European taste but still with a lot of flavors and taste. Plenty of good looking sweets for desserts. I went for the quality icecream. Handicap WC ground floor. More WC one stair up. Free parking next to restaurant (limited to maybe 20 cars). Wast parking space underground. 3 first hours free. A place like this I would expect to find in the center of Geneva or Barcelona, but not in the industriel zone of Etoy. Next to Hornbach, Lidl and many other shopping places. Congratulations to the owners and people working there.
Update August 2024: After eating 3 times in this restauant I still agree with my first review. Food quality and service very consistent. A place for eating fresh vegetables, seafood, pork and mild Thai curry. Japanese sushi and more. The Chinese sweet & sour soup is my favorite. I find it very interesting with its unique taste. Read moreWe visited on a Sunday after lunch and decided to try the buffet. From a previous visit, we remembered the price being CHF 24 per person. However, as soon as we sat down, the staff immediately asked if we wanted the buffet, and we agreed without checking the menu. Only later did I notice that the Sunday buffet was CHF 35 per person—a significant price increase. While this oversight was our fault, the difference caught us off guard.
We took just a small amount of the remaining food, but I wasn’t very hungry anymore. I barely filled one small plate and couldn’t even finish it. That’s when we noticed a sign stating that unfinished food incurs penalties. While I understand the intention to reduce food waste, it felt out of place considering the steep price of CHF 35.
The food itself was mediocre, which made the overall experience even less satisfying.
On the positive side, the restaurant is nicely decorated, and the staff is friendly. However, the pricing, policies, and food quality left a bad impression, and we won’t be...
Read moreI go into buffets with moderated expectations and judge them for the what they are intended to provide - quick service, variety of food, and good value. This one knocked it out of the park.
I originally had the Les Grands Buffets in Narbonne pinned for my European trip, but change of plans and I wasn't able to go - I randomly stumbled upon this Les grands buffet and was intrigued that it was rated 4.7 stars! That's pretty rare for buffets where I come from (Texas). My Swiss fiancé was incredibly skeptical but agreed to give it a try and she was impressed as well!
The service was top notch, the food selection and quality was also quite good - everything was about as fresh and tasty as you could hope for in a buffet. Considering the price, I'd say this would be hard to beat for value in any western nation, nevermind Switzerland.
Honestly, the only thing I was missing was maybe some more options for precooked hot dishes, but its hard to even make that argument since there was such variety for the made to...
