An Exceptional Dining Experience
As an avid food lover and experienced Google Mops Local Guide, I must say that my recent visit to Restaurant Vieux Bois in Geneva was nothing short of exceptional. This restaurant truly embodies the essence of fine dining, offering a perfect blend of exquisite cuisine, attentive service, and a charming ambiance.
Starting with the positives, the food at Restaurant Vieux Bois is truly outstanding. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented, with an array of flavors and textures that tantalized my taste buds. The seafood platter was a particular highlight, featuring an assortment of fresh and flavorful seafood that was simply divine. The wine selection was also impressive, with a knowledgeable sommelier on hand to make excellent recommendations.
Moving on to the ambiance, Restaurant Vieux Bois is a delightful mix of classic and contemporary. The decor is elegant and refined, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that sets the perfect mood for a night of fine dining. The service was also top-notch, with staff who were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to our needs throughout the entire meal.
Now, while my experience at Restaurant Vieux Bois was almost flawless, there were a few minor areas for improvement. Firstly, the prices are a bit steep, which may be a deterrent for some customers. Secondly, while the food was delicious, some dishes lacked a bit of seasoning, which left me wanting more. Lastly, the wait between courses was a bit long, which affected the overall pace of the meal.
Overall, I rate Restaurant Vieux Bois with 4 stars out of 5 stars for its exceptional dining experience. It is a place that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an upscale restaurant with impeccable service and exquisite cuisine. If the restaurant could work on reducing the prices, improving seasoning on some dishes, and speeding up the wait time between courses, it could be the perfect fine dining destination.
To conclude, I highly recommend Restaurant Vieux Bois in Geneva for anyone seeking an unforgettable fine dining experience. It truly deserves the 4 stars out of 5 stars that I have given it. If you are a food lover like me, then you must visit this restaurant and savor its mouth-watering delights. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant...
Read moreI specially mentioned being vegetarian in the booking form (no meat, no fishes, no crustacean, etc.)
I was proposed a starter with meat. I mentioned in person being vegetarian. I received a "fois Gras Creme brûlée" and bites in because I was in a conversation and didn't heard that is was again not vegetarian. I mentioned the error. I received apologize and a vegetarian starter. Which I accepted. The service asked me if I eat shrimps. I had to explain what means vegetarian, what is pescalian and what is omnivore. These basic wordings and definitions, must be thaught if not already. The risotto was served without shrimps. Hoping that they were not cooked in shrimps bouillon.
Personnel where very friendly and good willing, overall great experience, I do recommend the experience.
Last but not least hint : the online booking system is very good but a field asking for any additional comment, in which I wrote being vegetarian, must be considered this would have helped in avoiding my...
Read moreI went to Vieux Bois to view a room that I had reserved together for an event.
I asked the receptionist if I could see the room that we reserved to get an idea of the size and layout for the camera, sound etc. The receptionist said that this was not possible without an appointment. I said that I only needed to see the room for 10 seconds to get a quick idea, I indicated that I needed to submit requirements for the equipment by the end of the day. The receptionist told me to wait and went to discuss with the maître d'hôtel. The receptionist then came back and told me that it would not be possible and sent me away.
Since I had to submit requirements for the equipment, I looked online for room. On the plan that is published on the website. Astonishingly, the room Dunant is the room directly behind the reception, which was open as a restaurant. The most contemptuous treatment by a maître d'hôtel that I have experienced in my life. What treatment can we expect for...
