Crazy Kitchen Steakhouse — Restaurant in Lausanne

PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COST Robbery trick was tried on us!

One of my worse experience. Though, as you can read my other reviews, I usually am positive.

Let's start with 3 facts :

1, I have booked through "The Fork". And the waiter has first accepted and confirmed my booking (I have precisely asked about it). We ate from 20h15 to 22h10. But after we left, at 22h15, he cancelled it, to prevent me giving any reviews on that application!

When the moment came for us to pay, the waiter, knowing we wouldn't in any case leave any tip, didn't agree for us to pay separately. He had to accept after we insisted.

When we were leaving, he accused us of having wrongly calculated the sum of what we paid. He tried to steal some tip, but thanks to us paying with phone transaction, we could prove that we had paid the correct amount to the cent.

Now about FOOD, SERVICE and ATMOSPHERE :

FOOD: short answer -- Average at best Long answer -- as you know if you read my other reviews, I am peaky about meat... And did expect high quality since the 9.2 note on "The Fork". I take my meat "Raw", and the "Côte de boeuf", chf 51.-, was not evenly cooked, was full of nerves, and partially unchewable. The side dishes were to be found with a magnifying glass.

SERVICE : short answer -- don't expect any help, or thankfullness even if you help them save more than 50.- on their wrongly given bill!!! Long answer -- the arrival looked promising. He helped us find the free parking very nicely. But the positive ends here. When I asked : "I have a nice appetite, and would like the most tender meat on the menu, please...", well he could not really answer. Telling me the tenderness will only be set by the way I want my meat cooked. Raw being the most tender. He then told me that the rest of the choices was about the part of the animal, and this didn't affect how tender is the meat. I started to argue that the heart of the filet would certainly be more tender than a steak... But he denied and said they don't have filet or similar, so I should take the "Côte de boeuf". I could go on with other examples on how bad the service is, such as how my 10 years old daughter was ignored when asking a simple question... And other facts... But 2 more need only to be shared: I helped him spare more than 50.- CHF on the bill ! He first came with 2 mistakes... Missing 2 expensive cocktails drink; and giving us a discount of 40% rather than 30%. Do you think he would have thanked us? Or offered the coffees? Noooooo he came back with the corrected bill, even adding more than what we had ordered! Can you believe that? Of course we spotted that mistake... But he did not apologize, obviously. And the already written fact that he tried to trick us into giving some CHF on our way out, as explained.

ATMOSPHERE: ok, design is nice, but it is small, ad in cold weather, a lot of tables are close to the door.

CONCLUSION : unacceptable ! I'm giving a 2* because food did was ok for my friends there.

Worse than I thought !

The waiter did not even excused himself in any way. But tried to justify that all is normal ! The sudden cancelation of my booking to prevent me from giving any review after we left shows how much this person...

I came to this restaurant on the recommendation of my colleagues for a quiet dinner on Saturday.

I can say that the restaurant has a very delicious kitchen and a quiet, calm and family atmosphere. Located away from the noisy center on a quiet street (I especially recommend it if you, like me, don’t like noisy places)! Table reservation is recommended, but I was lucky and there was a place for me) the average bill per person is 60-70 francs.

The grilled lamb was great, the dessert (the local cheesecake?) was very unique and...

Cuisine: la viande était nerveuse et difficile à mâcher... cependant les patates ainsi que les légumes étaient bons

Service: nous avons attendu longtemps pour recevoir la carte qui avait peu de choix. La serveuse était gentille mais manquait énormément de professionnalisme (elle est partie remplir nos verres en cuisine, elle s'est allumée une cigarette sur la terrasse et pour finir elle a mis son doigt dans la mayonnaise en la posant sur la table.

Ambiance: l'ambiance ne donne pas super envie la première chose que j'ai vu c'est la nape en papier déchirée ainsi que les verres à vin qui étaient différents.

Je n'écris pas ce commentaire pour rabaisser mais à but informatif pour les prochains clients potentiels car les autres commentaires ne reflètent pas vraiment la réalité. Et aussi pour que les propriétaires puissent...
