Ristorante Arté — Restaurant in Lugano

This was my first fine dining experience ever. It's never really seemed worth it for me to go to fancy places with tasting menus because of my gluten-sensitive and vegetarian diet. We had picked the place because of the amazing view. Before heading to the restaurant, my partner and I had already found a back-up dinner place in case there wasn't an option for me. To say we were pleasantly surprised is an understatement! This restaurant went out of their way and off menu for me to have a delicious meal for dinner. They made a simple, yet so flavorful burrata and basil risotto. My partner had tagliatelle with amberjack. They even had a really nice gluten free bread for me! We had a view of the lakefront during sunset and the service and the ambience in the room was incredible. This experience was just to die for, it might actually be the best dinner I have ever had. Had the incredible opportunity to have been invited to a wedding which had their reception at the Ristorante Arté. Definitely the best wedding reception dinner I've ever had, including my own wedding haha. I'm not mad about it. Every dish was well balanced and tasty, plus they had wine and champagne pairings with each dish. Started off with a prawn and assorted seafood salad, followed by a hearty risotto, then a buttery cod with perfectly crisp skin, finished off with a filet that was moist and tender and paired with a foie gras pâtè. The previous night we had eaten at the hotel we were staying at. It was extremely expensive and the food quality was poor. We almost cancelled our reservation here fearing another failure. In the end, this ended up being one of the best dinners ever. The service was top notch. Our server was great recommending local wines to order.
