Review of Ricardo’s, St. Moritz: A Disappointing and Uncomfortable Experience
I rarely leave reviews, but my recent experience at Ricardo’s in St. Moritz left me no choice. While the evening started out fine, it quickly turned into one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.
Initially, everything seemed promising. The ambiance was nice, and our orders were taken without any issues. However, as the night went on, the service became slower and slower. By the time we got to dessert, the situation had gotten ridiculous. We waited for over 30 minutes for a simple dessert, and the restaurant wasn’t even busy.
What really pushed me to write this review, though, was the behavior of the staff. On multiple occasions, I noticed them staring at our table and laughing, which made us feel incredibly uncomfortable and disrespected. It was the kind of treatment that no one should experience in any restaurant, let alone one with such a high reputation.
I don’t usually take the time to leave reviews, but I felt compelled to share this experience. It’s unfortunate, but based on my visit, I cannot recommend Ricardo’s. There are far better places in St. Moritz where you’ll be treated with the respect and attentiveness...
Read moreWent there for our one night stop in St Moritz. The Foccacia entry was good. The main dish however was a disaster. The Cesar salad was a joke, a salad bun with all the leaves put on a plate, with some pre-cut tomatoes and croutons on top and very hard deep fried chicken that tasted like microwaved from 2 days ago. Must have taken them 1minute to make the Cesar salad. Fast and highly profitable for the restaurant I guess. We also ordered the most expensive pizza burrata and it was the worst pizza I ate in many years. Pizza was full of oil, burrata completely melted instead of still fresh and tomatoe sauce that tasted like a supermarket tomatoe sauce from a can. At this kind of price it's pure theft, we paid 90 CHF for this. We politely communicated our dissatisfaction to the waiter, he told us we were wrong and "this is the way they do it here". Needless to say we couldn't even finish our dishes.
Atmosphere with a restaurant packed with almost only asian tourists was also not what we expected. The restaurant is very lucky to attract all the one-time Asian tourists, charge them a lot and offer poor service and scandalous dishes, otherwise it would likely go out...
Read moreWe had dinner there. The prosecco was pretty average. The food was pretty average too: the beef steaks were overcooked vs. order and not particularly tasty + lukewarm, the lasagne was similarly average.
Service was very friendly but reasonably incompetent: our waitress took the meet orders without asking how it should be cooked, and when we volunteered the information, we had to repeat it 4 times in 3 different languages for her to understand what we were talking about!?! When she came to serve the prosecco, she gave us the empty glasses and asked us to pass them along the table (because she only had access to one side of the table), only to ask us to pass them back to her so she could fill them up... and then she served about 1/3rd of the glasses (because of the foam). It really seemed it was her first day on the job and she had received zero training nor had ever eaten at a restaurant.
The room itself was quite nice and we were in a section where each table has its own wooden partition which was cosy.
But the biggest let down was how could this restaurant possibly be rated #1 in all St Moritz on TripAdvisor?? In its own price range, this was really...
