la baracca — Restaurant in Sankt Moritz

In 2003 "la baracca" was apparently only meant to be a temporary premises on the edge of the Signalbahn car park. However, the rustic wooden hut has gained legendary status as THE place in St Moritz to go for its incredible lively atmosphere, great music, fantastic hospitality and very hearty food. The daily menu is written on a blackboard - there's not a huge choice but everything the 6 of us had, was absolutely perfect. And the 'wine list' is viewed by visiting a reimagined wardrobe where the current offering are displayed with price tags . . . . ranging from expensive to even more expensive. Very disappointed, we booked a month in advance and they didn't have a table for when we asked so they proposed another day. We accepted for two days later at 9:30 pm. We arrived at the restaurant on time, but the owner Max said he couldn't find our reservation not even apologizing for the misplaced booking. Letting as know that it would be better to go away and didn't even proposed anothet day. It is very unfortunate even if the restaurant is a bit claustrophobic and not a very nice place in St. Moritz nor clean, the food is...

📝 Abbiamo fatto qui cena e passato la serata fra amici. Ci sono sia lati positivi che meno positivi dal mio punto di vista: molto bene il cibo, servizio così così e aspetti da migliorare sulla struttura e atmosfera. Peccato perché lascia ben sperare però non ci ha lasciati pienamente convinti.

🍴 Non esiste un menù da nessuna parte, nemmeno in loco: praticamente abbiamo mangiato ciò che c'era, cioè insalata mista, ravioli e brasato con diversi contorni. Non viene servito nulla al piatto ma vengono portati dei grossi contenitori e ognuno si serve ciò che vuole. Ad ogni modo il cibo è stata la cosa migliore della serata: ottimo! Purtroppo ci è stato detto che avremmo potuto avere dei "refill" delle portate qualora avessimo voluto però, quando poi abbiamo chiesto, ci hanno detto che era finito tutto.

📍 Il locale si trova al lato dell'impianto di risalita Signal, perfetto per chi pernotta a St. Moritz Bad. La struttura è piuttosto precaria, il tetto in legno ha lasciato cadere delle goccioline fastidiose sulla testa e sui piatti di alcuni di noi per tutta la serata (dovute alla neve sul tetto o a condensa, poco cambia). La musica non ci è piaciuta molto e soprattutto il volume era troppo alto per noi che avevamo il tavolo sotto le casse: l'unico modo per goderci la serata è stata metterci dei tappi nelle orecchie...
