This will be a long review, but it’s worth it! This evening, for the first time I tried out the newly opened Golden India restaurant in Sursee. It is a somewhat special location because the restaurant is actually in an old abandoned train wagon. Due to time constraints I decided to do take away and to not sit down. I ordered a couple of dishes and wondered how it will turn out. The reason why I decided to give it a go this evening was because in the afternoon I called the restaurant (on the website it said it would be opening soon) to find out when it will in fact be fully operating. I learnt thar it is already opened since a couple of days. I learnt this because although I did not leave a message a nice gentleman called me back from his mobile and asked me if he could help me and and I said that I was wondering when they will be opening, then he explained that they already opened, and proceeded to welcome me as a guest in the near future. This gentleman was so nice and friendly that I immediately thought I will give it a go this evening – and boy am I happy I did! I ordered the following dishes:
Chicken soup Cheese Naan Bread Basket (Roti, Naan, Garlic Naan) Peshwara Naan (with coconut, dried fruit and nuts; a rare kind of naan and already impressed me that they have it!) Paneer Pakora (battered fried Indian Cheese) Palak Paneer (Indian cheese and spinach) Aloo Palak (spinach potato curry) Aloo Gobi (potato cauliflower curry) Tandoori Tiger Prawns Butter Chicken (you just have to! I mean…!) It all came with tons of rice
All the dishes were exceptional. This is fine (I want to say Royal) Indian cuisine at its best and I really hope they will be around for a long time and I’m already looking forward to having more of the dishes. I am half Indian and I have had my faur share of Indian food all over the world and this truly is one of the best- and that in little Sursee!! The staff was also very friendly they help me carry everything to the car they offered me mango lassi (they picked up that I have two boys, so they actually gave me two!!) and even one of the chefs ran after us to the car and provided us with more sauce for the butter chicken. Initially when I ordered (I went in an hour before as I was nearby anyway) they even offered delivery because it was so much, which however I didn’t need, because I would be returning to collect it, again because I had errands to take care of nearby anyway. Thank you Golden India, we will be...
Read morelet me tell you, this location is top notch. even though the restaurant is an old train wagon there is plenty of space and could seat a group of five people. i'd say the ambiente is unique and styled well. some of our food was served with unique dishes which we enjoyed looking at.
but now the important part, the food. one of the best indian places we've ever been to! no joke such a great culinary experience. we've tried a couple new things, the onion bajia was a hit starter and if i could i'd eat a boat load of them. the chicken pakori and fish pakora entrées were also enjoyed very much. the main dishes (2x butter chicken, 2x Palak Makhani & Prawns Bhuna) really topped everything we've ever had. very flavourful sauces and tender chicken. very great paneer and tasty prawns. all our main dishes were accompanied by white rice, cooked to have a nice texture and taste.
on the side we had normal & garlic naan, that we ordered a couple times because it was so very tasty.
to drink we each had a mango spritz to start the evening off, before our starters, which were varied in strength. some had a more mango-y taste and some less, which made them taste 'stronger'.
to top everything off we all ordered a mango lassi. what a great choice.
an incredible evening with incredible food, a good location with unique style and very friendly and also very fast service!
10/10 or 5/5 as google wont let me rate this any higher.

for anyone's inrerest: none of our dishes were spicy, which my sister was glad about, as she is a bit wimpy regarding spices, as she even finds the weakest hint of...
Read moreWhat can I say about this restaurant other than it’s a hidden gem. Golden Indian Restaurant in Sursee is right outside Lucerne and is as authentic as they come
I must say, the flavors of the food are better than almost any other Indian restaurant I have ever eaten at! The chefs at Golden Indian Restaurant are truly talented and their dishes are full of flavors.
The Dal Makhani is simply the best I have ever tasted! The creamy and flavorful lentil curry was cooked to perfection, and the addition of aromatic spices made it a truly memorable dish. The butter chicken was equally amazing, with the perfect balance of spices and creaminess.
The service at Golden Indian Restaurant is truly mind-blowing. The staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to your needs. They are always ready to help you with your choices and recommendations. I was particularly impressed by the attention to detail in their service, which made my dining experience truly memorable.
The concept of the restaurant is also worth mentioning. The restaurant is located inside a train wagon, which gives it a unique and cool atmosphere. The interior is beautifully decorated, and the ambiance is cozy and comfortable.
Overall, I would highly recommend Golden Indian Restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. The food, service, and ambiance are truly amazing, making it a hidden gem that everyone should try...
