Restaurant Grill Al Capone — Restaurant in Val de Bagnes

Not the same pizza I remember loving as a kid. Al Capone use to be one of my favourite restaurants in Verbier but following my visit and trying their “Al Capone Pizza” I was very disappointed as the pizza didn’t taste much. Chili oil was poor also. On the positives, you still get a complimentary mini pizza upon arrival which is always welcome and every pizza also has a complimentary side salad. 58 CHF for two pizzas and two drinks. Staff were friendly and attentive. However due to the average pizza, I don’t think I’ll be back...

Great location and owner greeted us and very warm and friendly during our entire visit, food excellent and tasted delicious. The restaurant was recommended by Jean-Marc of Hotel La Vallée (Lourtier Village) and was worth the journey to upper Verbier. Our server mixed up our guests orders several times and could have handled better after the first time as the second mix up was worth and as our one guest didn’t end up getting what they requested for starters.

Would go back for both...

Delicious food in a typical chalet setting. It definitely shows the owner has done this for many years, loves his restaurant and wants it to be the best, but he seems to be a control freak. He seems to not allow his staff to do the most basic things like seating people or picking up the phone, which sadly generates a delay in the whole (otherwise well-oiled) service routine.
