Restaurant le Grenier — Restaurant in Val de Bagnes

The desserts at this venue are amazing. However, after receiving the cheese platter, we came to a nasty surprise. Our favourite of the four cheeses was crusty, dry and molded. Clearly passed expiration date cause this was not a blue cheese whatsoever. We enjoyed the wine, but the portion they poured was another dissapointment. When informing the staff about the molded cheese, they did not reply accordingly. About the wine, the staff member told us that this was the standard Swiss portion, which clearly was not the truth since we have never had these ant-sized portions here in verbier. Working in hospitality myself, I rearly write reviews especially bad ones , but in this instance I cannot afford not writing. We ordered a côte d'agneau which came fried and overcooked and of course the plate was not eaten . Nobody came to ask why the plate was almost not touched. Le cadre du restaurant est agréable et crée une ambiance plaisante, ce qui est le seul point positif de mon expérience.

Cependant, j’ai été déçu par l'attitude de la serveuse, qui semblait mal à l'aise et a exprimé de manière assez directe son mécontentement lorsqu'on a commandé des desserts au lieu de plats principaux. Ce genre de remarque, bien que probablement non intentionnelle, n’a pas été particulièrement apprécié.

Autre point : les prix sont clairement très élevés. Un cheeseburger à 52 CHF me paraît démesuré. De plus, l'attente pour être servi a été longue, ce qui a encore terni l'expérience globale.

Je pense que le restaurant a du potentiel, mais il y a plusieurs points à améliorer pour offrir une expérience plus agréable...
