Bergrestaurant @Paradise — Restaurant in Zermatt

Very friendly and cheerful staff. I ordered tapas with a salad and got a generous portion of bread on the side. The kitchen team explained exactly what was included in the tapas—what was on the plate and on the menu—which was very helpful. They even walked me through the menu in general.

I visited on a Saturday, just before 11:30 a.m. It was almost empty at that time, even though it was a beautiful September day. Later it gets busy when people from the Five Lakes hike pass by, so a reservation is a good idea.

The place is nicely done: turquoise plates that match the cushions, lots of decoration in the same turquoise tone—very consistent and pretty. And of course, a fantastic view of the Matterhorn.

Zermatt is a great ski resort. The area is vast and lifts generally quick. The international option is cool and the delta in ticket price is small which is good as the lifts to top are often closed due to wind. Only ⚠️ warning . Dont go to 1818 restaurant. Poor service firstly. They did not cook meat properly delivered it raw which is dangerous then on second attempt brought back rare telling us chef says its medium. Chef did not come to discuss nor did the offer any compensation for this expense that was inedible that was to feed 2/4 of us . I cannot recommend 1818 restaurant any less! Obviously 1818 a seperate entity but i felt obligated to place review here to caution more against the danger of wasting an evening dinner...

Perfect spot for a cozy ski-in lunch with incredible views. @Paradise lives up to its name - an unforgettable view of the Matterhorn makes lunch on the terrace magical. The food is excellent, with a variety of elevated dishes to go along with classics (the fondue is delicious). Don’t miss the chance to sit outside on a clear day to enjoy a meal with friends / family here.
