Steiner Bäckerei-Konditorei AG — Restaurant in Zurich

I had a very unpleasant experience at this bakery. There is an older lady with glasses, always the same person, who was extremely rude to me today.

I am French and currently learning German. Being pregnant, I politely asked if the chicken in the sandwich was pasteurized. She answered “no” in a very aggressive tone. Then she asked me something in German, and I kindly explained that I didn’t understand. At that point, she shoved the bag violently across the counter toward me.

This is not the first time — every time I come, she behaves very aggressively toward me.

I can’t help but wonder if this behavior has something to do with the fact that I am a person of color.

I also had the misfortune of mispronouncing Speck, and she sharply corrected me in a very unpleasant way.

In any case, I find this behavior completely unacceptable, and I intend to report it to the...

Unfortunately I cannot give less than a star, they don't deserve even this...

Whoever the owner is, should definitely think of a big change! The words PROFESSIONALISM and KINDNESS are probably unknown for a few of the women running the business. Especially the one with the glasses and the short hair...

There have been many incidents (there is no reason to metion thoroughly, you can check all the reviews below) that me and my friends can confirm and always we try to give an excuse. One, two, three times, again and again... Always unpolite, completely rude and with a racist attitude!

That's enough, for me today it was the last time I gave a chance to this place! There is no way I would visit again or suggest...

The staff are very rude, especially to families with babies. We ended up preferring to leave than have to deal with a very argumentative old waitress that insisted on making us feel unwelcome. There was a table supposedly for 1 and another for 2. We were 3 ppl + baby. All we did is grab 2 small chairs to the single table. The old waitress disrespectfully and repeatedly asked us who gave you “permission” to grab chairs in this arrangement! What’s the crime in doing so? What are we in a school or cafe ?! Also, there was a table for 5 seating one single man. As regular customers to Steiner, this branch has successfully repelled us to ever come back. Such disgusting behavior only reflects discrimination...
