given the price point.
First, the service felt inexperienced. Our server didn’t seem well-versed in the menu or the wine selection, which was disappointing for a restaurant of this caliber.
We ordered the Chateaubriand for two, priced at around 70 CHF per person. The dish was served in two separate platings from the kitchen. The first plate arrived without the wine sauce (pic attached), though we didn’t realize it at the time. While the beef itself was tender, it tasted quite bland without the sauce. It was only when the second plate arrived—with the sauce—that we realized the mistake.
For a restaurant in this price range, such an oversight is unacceptable. When I brought it to the server’s attention and asked her to inform the chef, she simply smiled and apologized. I would have expected some kind of acknowledgment beyond that—perhaps a complimentary drink, dessert, or even a visit from the kitchen staff to personally apologize.
Overall, while the food had potential, the lack of attention to detail and underwhelming service left us disappointed. For the price, I expected...
Read moreThe staff at this place makes sure that you have a good time at the restaurant. They are attentive to service requests and service every client very efficiently. While the Chef is producing great meals in the kitchen and the drinks are served, the background music works its charm to make the ambience great. The location is also very accessible as its right opp the Kronenstrasse stop of tram 11 n 14. The area is more residential than business so the place has its regulars and long waiting during the weekends when one should have a reservation. The food is very nicely presented and they taste great. The menu is not long so that means they keep less but not limited items which they excel in. The drinks menu is great, so that you don't miss the life going past while you sip your drink at one of their tables outside. Drop by at least once for a...
Read moreI made a reservation for a particular set menu many weeks in advanced and noted on the reservation that I had a nut allergy. On the day of the reservation, I reminded the waitress I have a nut allergy. From the four-course set menu, two were substituted. The substitutions were not to the same standard as the originals. Instead of the goat cheese, nut, cranberry jam salad for the first course, I was served an unoriginal leafy salad with dressing. And, instead of a lemon meringue tart for dessert, I was served a bowl of cubbed fruit with a scoop of sorbet. From what I understand, this is one of the top-rated restaurants in Zurich (if not Switzerland) so to be served such thoughtless and uncreative substitutions, with plenty of notice given in advance, is a real shame, especially because I really enjoyed the other...
