Ah Hong Shi Turkey Rice — Restaurant in Chiayi

I ate at 3 turkey rice shops over 2-3 days in Chiayi. This was the best one.

Food - the turkey meat was the softest, the other two places were tough and hard. Rice was good too, overall all okay and happy with the food. Loved the sauce they put into the rice, we ordered another bowl.

Service - very helpful and friendly staff, despite it being a busy shop, they were kind and accommodating to us with small children.

Atmosphere - busy at 5pm, with a good local crowd and fast turnover. Enjoyed it.

Solid decision for a good old ChiaYi turkey 🦃 rice 🍚!! Affordable prices for families:) The restaurant is cleaner than the most of their kind and the staff is very busy but friendly and attentive! For our food selection we came to the conclusion that they truly mastered their meat dishes. Their turkey rice with pickled radish is simply delicious and their roasted pork tendon is quite good too. Went here during the weekends and as expected, it was incredibly crowded. Only 1 person allowed to queue for a takeout, and the dine-in queues was crazy as well. Unfortunately they don’t provide any shades for the people who are waiting outside, and when the day is hot, bring your own umbrella, otherwise, prepare for a sunburn.

The rice itself taste delicious, not as cheap as the other restaurants, but cheaper than northern taiwan for sure. Overall, they live the hype. I ordered takeouts and several hours later it’s still as good...
