Long overdue review (i thought i already posted a review!) I have been coming here for years. One of the few cafés open early in this neighborhood. Other cafés might be more vibey (minimalist, fancy decor, cat, etc etc) but the owner here is hands down the best host of any café I've been to in Taipei. He's warm, loves coffee and won't hesitate to teach you about coffee, and makes the atmosphere in the café one of welcome. I've seen him be friendly, kind and patient to customers of all ages - even the kid whose neglectful parent is allowing them to play jungle gym on the counter.

The person who made my coffee first brought out the grounds for me to smell, and then after it was brew, it was presented w such care. There was a hot coffee and then a slightly cooler one, a slender vile of the coffee sitting in a cup of iced water. He explained that at different temperatures, a different flavor comes out. Read moreThe optimal combination of my requirements: has food, has Wi-Fi, has power outlets and opens at 8 AM (almost nothing else in the area opens before 10 or even 11). Their focaccia sandwiches are really good. My friend who drinks coffee says that they clearly care about making good coffee. The only thing that could be improved is that the chairs are quite uncomfortable.
