Atmosphere is cool. Vibe is cool. Clients are cool.
What’s not cool is girl with blonde hair. She’s literally standing there polishing the same glass for 10 min. Talk about lazy.
I stood at the counter for about 5 minutes. Nobody came to take my order. I thought it’s ok, be like Buddha and practice your patience and compassion. Maybe they’re just really busy.
Then she came to to take my order. She just looked at me and didn’t say anything. I though maybe she can’t speak. Then she muttered something to herself, and I just said I’d like a cappuccino.
She seemed so disgruntled that now had to make another drink. Lol
So we sat at the table, and 10 min go by. She went right back to polishing that same glass. Must’ve been a really dirty glass or is she waiting for the clock to pass so she can go home. Feel bad for owner and management of the the coffee shop. It’s such a cool coffee shop. And I’ve been there many times before. I understand now that by it’s hard to hire good employees.
So I went in and asked is the coffee ready ? She, whilst polishing her glass said, are u in hurry ? I said it’s been more than 10 min . She just said are u in a hurry ?
Meanwhile I look over the espresso machine, and it’s just there unused. I’m a barista too, so it takes literally less than 30 seconds to make a an espresso shot, than add some milk. Not rocket science. Not that hard.
So she just keeps asking, are u in a hurry ? Are u in a hurry ?
I don’t think she understands how this works. Maybe go to a Starbucks or a ding tai fong where they have excellent customer service. Maybe be better. Or not. Be worse. Yeah, that’s a worthwhile goal. Good luck with that.
So I asked for my money back, they wanted me to wait and wait. I said no, give me a refund. They reluctantly gave me a refund. No sorry for the wait . Nothing. Just a scowl .
I got my stuff and started walking out.
As I’m leaving, I turned around. Sure enough, she’s still polishing...
Read moreI arrived just after lunch time and stayed until around 7:30pm. The interior is very minimalist and they play nice soothing music in the background. Almost every table along the wall had a charger socket, which was very convenient.
In the day, lots of people were here chatting so it was quite noisy(not the cafes fault though), however at 5pm onwards, it was silent even though there were 10 people all on their computers. It was a very nice atmosphere to work in.
I had an Earl Grey no bake cheesecake. It was alright, I just like a bit more flavour when it comes to desserts. The coffee was also pretty ordinary. I found it to be a bit expensive (180 ntd for an iced caramel latte) but then I stayed for a really long time without being kicked out so I just consider it the ‘fee’ for sitting there for hours.
Overall not a bad place to work, just have to hope that it’s not too crowded when you visit. Bathroom was...
Read moreI paid $140 NT for my iced peach tea with foam, and $110 NT for an earl gray cheesecake. Both were delicious and not too sweet, although the price was a bit too high for me to come daily. I arrived at around 2 or 3PM and stayed until 6:30. It definitely gets busier in the evenings, but there is a lot of space so it never feels too full.
There are a few outlets against the walls, and wifi is free although they kick you off after an hour (you can rejoin later, but I'm not sure what the time interval in between is).
Service was very good and there is English...
